Best DVC Resorts for the Holidays
With tickets for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights already for sale, planning for the holiday season is in full swing! If you haven’t made plans for your holiday vacation, here are some tips on where to stay among the DVC resorts to enjoy your favorite festivities.
For Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place in the Magic Kingdom on select nights from November 9 to December 22, 2023. After a late night of rides, fireworks, shows, parades, and cookies, a quick trip back to the resort is much appreciated. In this case, the monorail resorts (Bay Lake Tower, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian) are a great pick. Bay Lake Tower and the Grand Floridian are especially convenient with their walkways. If a short boat ride back sounds like a good way to relax at the end of the night, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek are also convenient resorts.
For Jollywood Nights
New for this holiday season is Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios on select nights from November 11 to December 20. The DVC resorts closest to Hollywood Studios are the BoardWalk, Beach Club, and Riviera. The Beach Club and BoardWalk have the Friendship boats to take you to and from Hollywood Studios. With the BoardWalk, you can even stroll along the walking path to get to the theme park. With Riviera, a quick ride on the skyliner and a short transfer can get you to the holiday party in no time!
For the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
The Beach Club, BoardWalk, and Riviera are also convenient for those who want to visit EPCOT for the Festival of the Holidays. This festival has lots of outdoor kitchens and entertainment to highlight how the holidays are celebrated around the world. The Beach Club and BoardWalk are both walking distance though the Beach Club has a slightly shorter walk to International Gateway, the back entrance to EPCOT. Riviera’s skyliner ride to EPCOT is only a few minutes, and no transfer is needed.
For a Cozy Feeling
There’s nothing quite like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge for the holiday season! Between the huge Christmas tree and fireplace in the lobby, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek at Wilderness Lodge are the perfect place to enjoy a cozy resort stay.
For the Christmas Tree Stroll
During the holidays, Disney Springs becomes extra festive with its Christmas Tree Stroll. Throughout Disney Springs, you’ll find several Christmas trees with specific themes related to Disney parks, characters, or movies. With DVC resorts like Old Key West and Saratoga Springs, you can take a ferry boat to visit Disney Springs. Be sure to pick up a map for the Christmas tree stroll. Once you find all the trees and mark them on the map, you’ll get a small prize!
For Incredible Gingerbread Displays
Disney World’s bakeries create some amazing gingerbread displays at the Grand Floridian, Beach Club, BoardWalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Contemporary Resort! You’ll find:
- A large gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian
- A gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club
- A gingerbread promenade at the BoardWalk
- Gingerbread baby animals at Animal Kingdom Lodge
- A gingerbread castle at the Contemporary, where Bay Lake Tower is located
In addition to these amazing displays, each of these resorts sells gingerbread cookies and other holiday treats.
