Exploring Boulder Ridge Villas
Originally named the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas is the original DVC resort at Wilderness Lodge. Boulder Ridge offers some respite from the hustle and bustle of the Magic Kingdom while still being only a short ferry ride away from the park. The resort is a sentimental favorite among many guests. Here are just some of the reasons why it is so beloved!
A Little Disney History
With the resort themed after 1860s railroad hotels, the lobby includes the Carolwood Pacific Railroad Room. The room has lots of train memorabilia and is named after Walt Disney’s Carolwood Pacific, which was a one eighth scale steam railroad that Walt had designed for his home. You can even find original freight cars from the Carolwood Pacific in this room.
Refurbished Rooms
By later this spring, the refurbishment of Boulder Ridge should be complete. This full refurbishment added Murphy beds and brought a more modern look to the rooms while still maintaining their rustic charm. There is also some new artwork featuring Mickey and friends.
A Laid Back Pool
While guests at Boulder Ridge have access to Copper Creek Springs, the main pool at Wilderness Lodge, there is also Boulder Ridge Cove Pool. It’s a zero entry pool with a railroad and mining theme. Boulder Ridge Cove Pool has a whirlpool spa and six shaded seating areas that are first come, first served. Even better, it tends to be quieter than Copper Creek Springs.
Wilderness Lodge Amenities
Although Boulder Ridge has its own separate building, it is just a short covered walkway away from the main Wilderness Lodge building and all of its amenities. This means that you have good dining options from the quick service Roaring Fork to character dining at Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White as well as fan favorite Geyser Point Bar & Grill. You also have access to the ferry to Magic Kingdom.
