Exploring Copper Creek Villas & Cabins

January 11, 2023
By

When people think of the Magic Kingdom resorts, they may automatically picture the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian.  But tucked away across Bay Lake is the peaceful Wilderness Lodge, which is home to Copper Creek Villas & Cabins.  The newer of the two DVC resorts at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek opened in 2017.   Let’s explore what this serene resort has to offer!

The Cozy Lobby

Copper Creek is located within Wilderness Lodge, which arguably has one of the best lobbies among Disney World resorts.  Themed after the national parks of the Pacific Northwest, the lobby is both cavernous with its high ceilings and 82-foot tall fireplace, yet cozy with its small seating areas and rocking chairs.  The lobby is especially charming when it is decked out for the holiday season with the enormous Christmas tree.

A Quick Ride to the Magic Kingdom

Despite being a somewhat secluded resort, Copper Creek is very convenient for Magic Kingdom days.  At the resort, you are just a quick boat ride away from the park.  Transportation begins half an hour prior to Magic Kingdom’s opening time and continues until an hour after the park closes.

A Nice Variety of Eateries

Copper Creek offers everything from quick service to character dining.  For quick service, you have Roaring Fork for breakfast classics like Mickey waffles and sandwiches and BBQ for lunch and dinner.  You also have the fan favorite Geyser Point Bar & Grill along the waterfront that offers great drinks and menu items like a delicious bison burger.

If you hear a lot of laughter just off the lobby, you are probably hearing Whispering Canyon Cafe!  This western-themed table service restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is known as much for its silly antics as its all-you-care-to-eat skillets.

For character dining, there is Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White.  The restaurant offers a prix fixe dinner with your choice of an entree plus shared appetizers and desserts.  During your meal in the Enchanted Forest, you will meet Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and even The Queen.

To cap off a night, you can head over to Territory Lounge, which offers a variety of cocktails, beer, wine, and bourbon.  It also serves light bites like charcuterie and flatbread.

Beautiful Cascade Cabins

Exclusive to Copper Creek are the Cascade Cabins along Bay Lake.  These rustic chic cabins have two bedrooms with space for up to 8 guests.  Besides having a full kitchen and washer/dryer like the One Bedroom Villas and larger accommodations, the cabins have some unique features like a double-sided fireplace and a screened-in porch with a hot tub.
