Exploring The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

April 19, 2023
By

Conveniently located along the monorail line, the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is arguably the most deluxe DVC resort as a part of Walt Disney World’s flagship resort.  The DVC portion of the Grand Floridian includes a separate building dedicated to the villas as well as the Big Pine Key building, which was converted from hotel rooms to Resort Studios in 2022.  Let’s explore what The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has to offer!

Easy Access to the Magic Kingdom

The monorail at the Grand Floridian

From the Grand Floridian, you have multiple ways to get to the Magic Kingdom.  You can take the monorail, and the Magic Kingdom is the first stop from the Grand Floridian.  There are also the ferry boats that launch from near Narcoosee’s for a leisurely route.  The recently added walkway makes it easy to come and go without needing to wait for any transportation.

Fireworks Views

There are lots of great ways to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the Grand Floridian!  From the ferry dock, Narcoosee’s, the marina by Gasparilla Island Grill, and even the Theme Park View Resort Studios, you can see Happily Ever After without being stuck in the huge crowds in the Magic Kingdom.

Beautiful Holiday Decorations

The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has some of the best decorations during the holiday season!  The lobby features a huge Christmas tree and a large gingerbread house from which you can buy lots of goodies, including gingerbread, chocolate, and cookies.  During Easter, you can see the incredible chocolate egg display and visit the Grand Cottage for treats like hot cross buns, fudge, cake, and chocolates.

Great Shopping

M. Mouse Mercantile and Sandy Cove Gifts and Sundries at the Grand Floridian have souvenirs that you’ll find in a typical Disney resort.  However, the Grand Floridian has additional specialty shops like Curiouser Clothiers, which carries designer brands such as Lilly Pulitzer, Tommy Bahama, Dooney & Bourke, and Coach.  You can also visit Basin White for soaps, scrubs, bath salts, bath bombs, and a line of Disney products.

Elevated Dining Options

House Made Rigatoni at Citricos

The Grand Floridian is home to the most luxurious epicurean experience on property: Victoria & Albert’s. The restaurant has won numerous awards such as the AAA Five Diamond Award and the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Award.  For additional signature dining, there’s Citricos for Florida-inspired cuisine and Narcoosee’s for seafood.

If those restaurants aren’t your cup of tea, you can find more casual dining options with the Grand Floridian Cafe or Gasparilla Island Grill, or enjoy room service.

There’s so much to love about staying at this elegant property! We hope you enjoyed exploring The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Book a reservation at the Grand Floridian for your next trip.
