While the Grand Californian has the closest location to a theme park with its own private entrance into Disney California Adventure, both the Grand Californian and Villas at Disneyland Hotel offer convenient locations that are walking distance to both theme parks and Downtown Disneyland.
If deciding between the two Disneyland Resorts, keep in mind that the Grand Californian has very few rooms in total, which translates into limited availability. The Villas at Disneyland Hotel typically has better availability unless you are looking for larger accommodations. There are only 19 One Bedroom Villas, 20 Two Bedroom Villas, and 2 Three Bedroom Grand Villas at the Disneyland Hotel. Your odds of booking a Deluxe Studio are much better since there are 253 of them.
Coastal Resorts
While many guests may automatically think of Disney World or Disneyland when considering Disney Resorts, there are some wonderful standalone DVC Resorts that can offer more relaxing beach vacations with the same magic and friendly cast members that Disney guests know and love:
