At Which DVC Resort Should I Rent Points For a Relaxing Vacation?

Disney vacations are so much fun, but with all the walking in the theme parks and waking up early for rope drop, it can also be a bit exhausting.  Sometimes you just want a relaxing trip.  If a little rest and relaxation is what you need, here are the DVC resorts you should book.

Old Key West

Themed after the Florida Keys, Old Key West has a wonderful laid back vibe that makes you feel right at home.  Although you are still on Walt Disney World property, you are far enough from the hustle and bustle of the parks.  Many of the villas have peaceful views of the resort grounds or the golf course from their spacious balconies.  Old Key West has some of the largest villas among the DVC resorts, so you have plenty of room to sprawl.  While at the community of Conch Flats, treat yourself to some comfort food at Olivia’s Cafe.

Saratoga Springs

Like Old Key West, Saratoga Springs offers a tranquil setting away from the theme parks.  After all, it draws inspiration from the upstate New York country retreats of the 1800s.  If you truly want some peace and quiet, the standalone Treehouse Villas can be the perfect accommodation.  These 1,074-square-feet elevated villas sleep up to 9 guests with 3 bedrooms and feel very secluded.  They each have their own private deck, so you can enjoy the outdoors.

Vero Beach

Vero Beach provides the perfect combination of a beach getaway with touches of Disney magic.  Here, you can relax on the private beach along the Atlantic Treasure Coast or even get Ocean View Deluxe Inn Room to take in the beautiful scenery right from your room.  In the summertime, keep an eye out for the loggerhead, green, and leatherback sea turtles, whose nesting grounds are right at the resort.  You may even catch a glimpse of a hatchling turtle emerging from its nest!

Hilton Head

Located in South Carolina, Hilton Head is a great DVC resort to visit for some downtime to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.  You can take it easy and explore the outdoors on nature walks, or stay cozy indoors at The Live Oak Lodge (the resort’s main building) where you’ll find a fireplace, pool table, and some Disney movies.  If you want to head to the beach, take the complimentary shuttle bus over to the Beach House, which is right along the Atlantic Ocean.  Have fun discovering all that Hilton Head Island has to offer from its world-class golf courses to its boutiques and wide variety of restaurants.

Aulani

For relaxation in paradise, Aulani is the place to be.  From the soaking up the sun on the gorgeous beaches of Oߵahu to Laniwai – A Disney Spa, there are lots of ways to rejuvenate while staying at Aulani.  If pooltime is your favorite way to unwind, Aulani may just have the best pools among the DVC resorts.  There’s the beautiful Ka Maka Grotto infinity edge pool that overlooks Ko Olina Beach, the Waikolohe Pool with the Volcanic Vertical body slide, or the amazing saltwater snorkeling lagoon Rainbow Reef!
