Where to Stay to Be Near Your Favorite Disney World Theme Park
The DVC resorts are the best resorts on Walt Disney World property not only for their Deluxe Resort amenities but for their prime locations. Most of them are very close to one or even two theme parks, and many have transportation options other than just buses. If you’re looking to stay as close as possible to your favorite theme park, here’s where to stay!
Magic Kingdom

If rope dropping the Magic Kingdom is the ideal way to start your day, it’s hard to beat staying along the monorail loop at Bay Lake Tower, the Grand Floridian, or Polynesian. From Bay Lake Tower and the Grand Floridian, you are so close that you can simply walk to the Magic Kingdom. Alternatively, you can take the boat from Grand Floridian and Polynesian. Either way, it’s a quick trip to the Magic Kingdom.
If you want to be close to the Magic Kingdom but prefer lower points charts, consider Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek, or the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. They feel remote with their peaceful settings, but each is just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.
EPCOT

When EPCOT festivals are the focus of your trip, the Beach Club and BoardWalk are the best places to stay. Both are walking distance or a short boat ride from EPCOT’s back entrance, International Gateway. The Beach Club is a particularly short walk; you can get to EPCOT in under 10 minutes from the Beach Club lobby.
Also an EPCOT resort, Riviera is just a few minutes away via Skyliner.
Hollywood Studios

There are no specific Hollywood Studios resorts, but with EPCOT being so close, the EPCOT resorts are still convenient for heading to Hollywood Studios. Both the BoardWalk and Beach Club have the Friendship boats that can take you to Hollywood Studios, but the BoardWalk is the closest and is about a 15-minute walk away. Riviera is just a Skyliner ride away as well. You’ll just need to transfer lines at the Caribbean Beach Skyliner station to get to Hollywood Studios.
Animal Kingdom

No resort is walking distance from Animal Kingdom, but you can have the shortest bus ride when staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Buses will stop at Kidani Village first and then Jambo House before heading to Animal Kingdom. This means that staying at Jambo House can shave off a few minutes from your bus ride, but staying at Kidani will make it more likely that you find a seat on the bus.
Disney Springs

While not a theme park, Disney Springs is a destination in its own right. If the shopping and dining district is a top priority for your trip, consider staying at Old Key West or Saratoga Springs. They offer boats to take you to Disney Springs, and you can even walk to Disney Springs from Saratoga Springs.
If walking to Disney Springs is important to you, you may want to stay in a Preferred Villa at Saratoga Springs and request the Congress Park section. That area is closest to the Disney Springs walking path.
