Best DVC Resorts for the Fourth of July
No one does the Fourth of July like Walt Disney World, so what are the best DVC resorts to book to enjoy the festivities?
Resorts for Magic Kingdom Fireworks Views
For the Fourth of July, the Magic Kingdom features “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” in place of Happily Ever After. This holiday fireworks spectacle takes place twice, once on July 3 and again on July 4. Not only is this show special for its patriotic fireworks, soundtrack, and projections, but it is a 360 degree show with fireworks being launched all around the Magic Kingdom. With the 360 degree fireworks, the monorail resorts (Bay Lake Tower, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian) are the best places to see the full effect!
Note that on July 3 and 4, Disney typically restricts access to the monorail resorts to guests staying at the resorts to avoid overcrowding in the fireworks viewing areas. This means that you can’t just visit the beach at the Polynesian or the fourth floor observation deck at the Contemporary as a day guest. Even Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Tower is often limited to eligible guests staying at Bay Lake Tower on July 3-4.
Resorts for EPCOT Fireworks Views
Over in EPCOT, you can still view the regular fireworks show (currently EPCOT Forever) but with a special holiday tag shown immediately afterwards called Heartbeat of Freedom. This patriotic add-on only takes place on July 4 and has an incredible grand finale that you do not want to miss! You can see the fireworks best from the World Showcase in EPCOT, but the BoardWalk Villas, Riviera, and some parts of the Beach Club Villas have fireworks views as well.
Resorts for Special Fourth of July Activities
If you prefer to watch the fireworks from within the parks but still want to enjoy some of the holiday fun, every DVC resort offers special activities for the Fourth of July! For example, Wilderness Lodge, which is home to Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek, held a block party with carnival games, an ice cream bar, photo opportunities, and raffles. At Saratoga Springs, there was a patriotic pargo parade and a street party by the Springs bus stop with a DJ, games, contests, face painting, food, and drinks. No matter which DVC resort you choose, be on the lookout for fun activities to celebrate the Fourth of July!
