Which New Disney World Lounge Should You Visit?

June 3, 2025
By

This year, we have not one but two new lounges coming to theme parks in Walt Disney World!  There’s The Beak and Barrel opening in Magic Kingdom late 2025 and GEO-82 opening in EPCOT as of June 4.  Visiting lounges can be a highlight for many Disney adults, so with the two new lounges opening soon at Disney World, which should you visit?

For the Whole Family

Disney World is probably one of the most kid-friendly destinations out there.  However, the sophisticated GEO-82 is one of the few locations at Disney World that is limited to adults 21 and over. For families traveling with kids and teens, The Beak and Barrel welcomes guests of all ages.

For the Foodie

Though it doesn’t open until June 4, GEO-82 likely wins this one.  The lounge will offer globally-inspired cocktails and small plates that are likely more elevated than those at The Beak and Barrel.  At GEO-82, you’ll find cocktails like the brown butter old fashioned, caramelized leek martini, and the clarified New York sour. Guests can also enjoy small plates such as, truffled ahi tuna, jumbo lump crab gâteau, a chef’s selection of artisanal cheeses, and a funghi flatbread with miso-mascarpone.

For the Experience and Entertainment

While GEO-82 is located right inside the iconic Spaceship Earth and the elegant lounge’s decor is influenced by the attraction, guests looking for a fun lounge atmosphere with lots of Easter eggs and storytelling may find The Beak and Barrel more appealing.

The lounge expands the world of Pirates of the Caribbean and introduces Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn (the pirate rumrunner) and her parrot Rummy who acts as The Beak and Barrel’s quartermaster and bears a resemblance to the Barker Bird that used to be perched at the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean.  The lounge is filled with little details like the bar in The Mess that is created from pieces of a cursed shipwreck and the miniature ships in glass bottles above the fireplace in the Captains’ Quarters that come alive and battle!  From storytelling to sing-alongs, guests will have lots to discover at The Beak and Barrel beyond the beverages and snacks.

For the View

When it comes to views, GEO-82 wins hands down!  From inside the lounge, guests will have beautiful views of World Celebration gardens and World Showcase Lagoon.  You can even reserve the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience to watch Luminous from a window table at GEO-82.  The experience is $179 per person (plus tax and gratuity) and includes a tasting tower of savory bites, sweet treats, and champagne and exclusive cocktails.

Check out The Beak and Barrel or GEO-82 or both during your next Disney World vacation!  If you don’t have one booked, start planning by browsing the confirmed reservations or requesting a free quote for a stay at a DVC resort.
