Tip #2 Stay on Disney Property When Booking Room Reservations

There are lots of perks that come with staying on Disney property. First, the theming of every Disney Resort is amazing! Secondly, when you stay on Disney property, you have access to the Magical Express, Disney Transportation, Magic Bands…AND you are super close to Disney World Theme Parks! Disney Vacation Club Villas also give you extra amenities, such as a washer, dryer, dishwasher and more. If staying in a DVC Villa interests you, keep reading!

Choose From Three Types of Disney Resorts

So what is considered ‘Disney Property’? Staying at any of Disney’s Resorts. Disney has three types of resorts: value resorts, moderate resorts, and deluxe resorts. The Deluxe Disney Resorts are so close to the theme parks that you could walk or take a monorail to the park.

For instance, Magic Kingdom has Bay Lake Tower, The Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian, all within walking distance or on the monorail. Copper Creek and Boulder Ridge are also just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. The Deluxe Disney Resorts close to Epcot include Boardwalk and Yacht & Beach Club. Close to Disney Springs, the Deluxe Disney Resorts are Saratoga Springs and Old Key West.

The Moderate Disney Resorts are not quite as close to theme parks as the Deluxe Disney Resorts are. However, they still have incredibly great Disney theming and are wonderful places to stay. The Value Disney Resorts are considerably less expensive than the other Disney resorts and you still get the perks of staying ‘on Disney Property’, however, they are not as close to theme parks or quite as grand as the deluxe resorts.

So, how do you stay at a Deluxe Disney Resort for the same price as a Moderate Disney Resort? Get moderate resort pricing at a deluxe resort by renting points through DVC Rental Store. You will be pleasantly surprised to save money AND time by staying at a Deluxe Disney Resort! Keep reading for more perks of staying on Disney property.

Magic Band Perks

Magic bands in and of themselves don’t necessarily get you anything special. However, they make getting into theme parks easier. They also make buying food easy. It makes Fastpass+ easy. PhotoPass+ is super easy with a magic band! Magic bands just make the whole trip easier! Plus they are fun! If you stay on Disney property, you get a free magic band in a solid color. You can mix it up by buying ‘special’ magic bands in theme parks or on ShopDisney.com.

2020 Disney Planning
Magic bands are free in colors red, pink, yellow, green, orange, blue, or gray when you stay on Disney Property. For fun magic bands such as this Daisy one, you can buy them from Disney!

Magical Express & Disney Transportation Perks

So the obvious perk to Magical Express is that it makes transportation easy to and from the airport. You don’t have to rent a car (extra money) or pay for parking at the resort ($24 a night!) And you don’t have to worry about getting gas for the vehicle or paying for insurance. Magical Express is Hakuna Matada…no worries. And…I’ll also add…I once got into the Orlando Airport after midnight…and the Magical Express was still running. They do NOT turn into pumpkins at midnight.

On a side note, if you rent DVC points to stay at a Deluxe Disney Resort, you may park a car for free overnight at the resort. So, if you are renting a vehicle or driving to Orlando and you rent DVC points through DVC Rental Store for your room accommodations, you do NOT have to pay for overnight parking at the resort! You do still have to pay for parking at the theme parks.

Disney's Magical Express
These buses run at all hours!!

Likewise, when you are on Disney property, you have access to Disney Transportation system, whether that is Disney buses, the monorail, a boat, or the new Skyliner gondolas. This is a perk because you don’t have to pay for transportation OR parking at the Disney World Theme Parks! Parking alone can range from $25 – $50 per day at the theme parks! And you don’t have to rent a vehicle if you take Disney Transportation! It’s easy & saves you money!!

The Perk of Being Close to Disney World Theme Parks

Staying at a Deluxe Disney Resort means you are close to the parks. Notice I said Deluxe Resort…not just any Disney resort. Closer proximity means more time at the theme parks. Another benefit is if you have young children, you can sneak in a nap time super easy by heading back to the resort in the middle of the day. Once your children are rested, you can easily return to rides and laughter and fun!

Perks of Having a Kitchen and Laundry

This perk is exclusive to Deluxe Disney Resorts, and it is one of my favorites! You get the perk of having a full kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, dishes, silverware, cups, mugs, plates, etc. It truly feels like you are at home…only at Disney. Plus eating breakfast in the mornings in your room saves you a few pennies.

Furthermore, any DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Villas that have one or more bedrooms also come with a washer and dryer set! Overall you can make your 2020 Disney Vacation easier by having both a kitchen and a washer/dryer in your room! This perk is exclusively received by renting a Disney Vacation Club Villa.
