Virtual Queues Ending at Walt Disney World for Two Major Attractions

February 18, 2025
By

Starting February 25, 2025, Walt Disney World will no longer use Virtual Queues for two of its most popular attractions: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. Instead, both rides will transition to a traditional standby queue, making it easier for guests to experience these attractions without the need for advance planning.

While the Virtual Queues are being retired, Lightning Lane options will still be available for both attractions. Here’s what you need to know about how to ride these attractions moving forward.

How to Ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Previously, guests had to join a Virtual Queue or purchase an Individual Lightning Lane pass to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Beginning February 25, there will be two ways to experience this EPCOT thrill ride:

  • Standby Queue – Guests can simply wait in a traditional standby line. This will be the first time since the attraction’s opening that guests will have the option to wait in line without needing a Virtual Queue or Lightning Lane purchase.
  • Lightning Lane Single Pass (Individual Lightning Lane) – For those who prefer to skip the standby wait, a paid Lightning Lane Single Pass (formerly known as Individual Lightning Lane) will still be available for purchase through the My Disney Experience app. Pricing will vary based on demand and availability.

Important Note: Unlike other attractions, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will NOT be included in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection (formerly known as Genie+) at this time. Guests will need to either wait in the standby line or purchase a Single Lightning Lane pass.

How to Ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Disney’s highly anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened last summer, bringing a fresh new storyline inspired by The Princess and the Frog to Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. Once Virtual Queues are discontinued, guests will have two options to experience the attraction:

  • Standby Queue – Guests can wait in the regular standby line without needing to join a Virtual Queue.
  • Lightning Lane Multi Pass – Unlike Guardians of the Galaxy, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be included as a Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection (Disney’s updated version of Genie+). Guests who purchase the Multi Pass service can select Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as one of their ride choices for the day, allowing them to bypass the standby line.

What This Means for Your Disney Vacation

The removal of Virtual Queues simplifies the process of experiencing these attractions. Guests will no longer have to wake up early to secure a boarding group, making it easier to fit these rides into their park day.
