Unique Dining at Disney World
Eating out can be an important part of vacation, and when it comes to dining at Disney World, it’s always fun to try something you can’t get at home. This goes for both the food itself as well as experience. Besides character dining, Disney World has a lot of table service restaurants that have unique theming or entertainment.
Cool Atmosphere
Space 220 Restaurant
In EPCOT, take the space elevator 220 miles above Earth to dine in the Centauri Space Station with panoramic views of outer space! Space 220 offers a 2-course prix fixe during lunch and a 3-course prix fixe during dinner, both of which feature modern American fare. There is also a lounge where you’ll find an à la carte menu of appetizers and spirits.
Coral Reef
Located within The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT, this seafood restaurant serves dishes like shrimp and grits and mahi mahi. Its panoramic windows offer incredible views of a living coral reef that is home to more than 2,000 sea creatures. These include fish, sea turtles, rays, and sharks!
Roundup Rodeo BBQ
Join Andy’s toys at the latest restaurant to open in Walt Disney World! The all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant in Toy Story Land serves BBQ favorites family-style. You’ll find ribs, brisket, chicken, sausage, and lots of side dishes to choose from. This highly themed restaurant looks like Andy has created it with his play sets and game pieces. It doesn’t have character meet and greets, but it’s still an experience and the perfect place to take Toy Story fans!
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant
Over in Hollywood Studios, go back to the ‘50s with this drive-in style restaurant with car-shaped booths and picnic tables. Watch clips of old sci-fi films as you dine on American classics like burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
Dinner and a Show
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
In Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness, catch the Pioneer Hall Players for this cheesy but fun music and comedy revue as you dine on an all-you-care-to-eat feast. Dinner includes fried chicken, BBQ ribs, cornbread, coleslaw, mac and cheese, salad, cowboy beans, and strawberry shortcake. There are three different showings per day, and doors open at 4pm, 6:15pm, and 8:30pm.
Biergarten
Make your way to the Germany Pavilion in EPCOT to celebrate Oktoberfest in a Bavarian village with a buffet and live Polka band! The buffet serves German cuisine like bratwurst, pork schnitzel, sauerkraut, nudel gratin, apple strudel, and a variety of German beers and wines. You’ll also find rotisserie chicken, potatoes, and salads.
Raglan Road
This Irish pub is located in The Landing at Disney Springs and is known as much for its pub fare like fish and chips and bangers and mash as its live music and Irish step dance shows. The live entertainment takes place from 5pm to 10pm daily.
The Edison
Also at The Landing in Disney Springs is The Edison, a steampunk-themed restaurant that is designed as an abandoned 1920s powerplant. The restaurant offers American cuisine and craft cocktails along with a variety of live entertainment such as jazz bands and cabaret singers.
Playful Castmembers
50’s Prime Time Cafe
In Hollywood Studios, step into Mom’s kitchen for comfort food like fried chicken, meatloaf, and pot roast. You’ll be transported to the 1950s both through the retro kitchen decor and the black-and-white television segments you can watch while eating dinner. The cast members here will truly treat you like family, so be sure to be on your best behavior, and keep your elbows off the table!
Whispering Canyon Cafe
The name of this restaurant at Wilderness Lodge is a bit of a misnomer since the antics and laughter make the atmosphere anything but quiet. The cast members and shenanigans are a real hoot! Whispering Canyon Cafe serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is best known for its all-you-care-to-eat skillets though á la carte items are available.
