
Setting Up Automated Alerts for DVC Point Rentals
Renting out your Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points is a great way to maximize their value, and setting up automated alerts ensures you never miss a potential rental opportunity. Instead of constantly checking for matches, you can let our system do the work for you. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up automated email alerts through the DVC Rental Store Member Center, so you’re notified whenever a Guest request matches your available points.
How to Let Our System Know Your Available Points
To receive automated alerts, you’ll need to provide details about your available points. Here’s how:
- Log in to Your DVC Rental Store Member Center Account
- Navigate to DVC Rental Store Member Center and enter your login credentials.
- Access the “My DVC Points” Tab
- Once logged in, click on the My DVC Points tab. This is where you’ll input details about your available points.
- Enter Your DVC Point Details
- Click “New” to fill out the required information, including:
- Your Home Resort
- Point Status (Banked, Borrowed, Current)
- Use Year (Month) and Expiration Date
- Number of Points Available to Rent
- Points Willing to Borrow (e.g., the number of points that you would be comfortable borrowing from your next Use Year to fulfill a rental request. We typically recommend listing 10-20 points here so that you don’t miss out on rental opportunities that are a few points more than what you are looking to rent.)
- Click “New” to fill out the required information, including:
- Save Your Information
- Once all details are entered, click Save to save your available points. Now, our system can match your points with incoming Guest requests.


How Automated Alerts Work
Once your available points are entered, our system will monitor Guest requests and notify you when a match is found. Here’s what to expect:
- Daily Email Notifications
- If a Guest request matches your available points, you’ll receive an email alert. This email will include details of the potential rental opportunity.
- Direct Link to Claim Open Listings
- The email will contain a link to the Claim Open Listings Page, where you can review the request and claim it if it’s a good fit for your points.
- Quick Action Needed
- Open Listings are first-come, first-served. If you’re interested in a request, claim it quickly before another Member secures it.

Best Practices to Maximize Rental Opportunities
To increase your chances of successfully renting your points, consider these best practices:
Enter Your Available Points as Early as Possible
- The sooner your points are in the system, the more chances you’ll have to match with a Guest request. We recommend listing your points when they still have 7-11 Month Home Resort Availability.
Regularly Check the Claim Open Listings Page
- While automated alerts help, new requests are added throughout the day. Checking manually ensures you don’t miss out on opportunities that pop up but get claimed prior to our daily alert emails.
Keep Your Information Up to Date
- If you change your mind about the number of points you want to rent, update your points in the My DVC Points tab to ensure you receive relevant rental requests.
Act Fast When You Get an Email Alert
- Since rentals are matched on a first-come, first-served basis, responding quickly gives you the best chance of securing the request.
