Renting DVC Points: What Happens If You Cancel Your DVC Trip?

Stress Free Cancellation Policy

Whether you rent a confirmed reservation or rent by checking availability and price, every resort reservation booked through the DVC Rental Store automatically comes with the Stress Free Cancellation Policy. If you need to cancel your trip, you may receive credit depending on how far in advance you cancel your reservation and how much you have already paid. This credit is good for up to two years from your original travel dates, so you can rebook your vacation when the timing is right for you.

For example, if you have to cancel your trip 60 days out from your check-in date, you would receive 50% of the total reservation price back in credit to put towards a future DVC rental.  

Cashback Protection Policy

If you prefer to receive a refund instead of credit, you can upgrade to the Cashback Protection Policy.  This optional add-on allows you to get a refund to your original form of payment based on how far in advance you cancel your trip and the amount you have already paid.  

With the Cashback Protection Policy, if you cancel your trip 60 days out from your check-in date, you would receive a refund of 60% of the eligible funds paid, minus the protection premium.  

While you can add the Cashback Protection Policy at the time of booking your rental reservation, for additional flexibility, you can now add the Cashback Protection Policy up to 121 days before your check-in date.
