Is Disney Springs’ Cookie Bar a Must-do Sweet Spot?

July 18, 2024
By

I came to the realization just a few years ago that cookies are my love language. They’re comforting, warm, and they remind me that the sweetest moments in life can also be the simplest.

Combine my love for cookies with my passion for Walt Disney World, and you’ve got a match made in heaven. We Disney cookie fans have quite the decision ahead of us when we try to choose our favorite, don’t we?

While we could take the kid-in-a-candy-store (or cookie store, in this case) approach as we eat our way through the most magical place on earth, it might be better to have a clear picture of the options available to us before we jump in sweet tooth first. And today, I’ll be making your decision just a bit tougher with a relatively new kid on the block that I feel you need to know about.

The spot that I think is worthy of your must-eat cookie list is The Cookie Bar at Disney Springs’ Summer House on the Lake. You’ll find The Cookie Bar smack in the middle of the building that houses Summer House, and upon first glance, you might miss it altogether. For the love of all things sweet, please don’t. Ascend the five or so steps that lead you up to The Cookie Bar and feel all the feels as you’re transported into a Wonka-like cookie haven.

Let me say right off the bat that you might be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of cookie options that lay before you at The Cookie Bar. That’s okay; fight the urge to feel pressured to jump directly into line and take your time while you survey the offerings.

The cookies all hover around $5 each, including the gluten free and vegan options. You’ll find everything from a classic chocolate chip to a snickerdoodle and a bubblegum-colored variety aptly called the Pink cookie.

My favorite is the Lemon cookie. It’s a pucker-inducing, chewy, sugar-glazed treat that packs a punch in the very best way. Also on my list of must-tries is the Creamsicle cookie. If you love the summertime flavor combination of orange and vanilla, this cookie deserves top billing.

If you’re a fan of espresso like I am, The Cookie Bar also offers coffee concoctions to keep you fueled for your day. You’ll find everything from a Horchata Latte to an espresso martini on the menu, and if you’re a cold brew fan, they’ve got that, too.

If you’re stopping by Summer House on the Lake for a table service meal, I’m happy to say that you can order The Cookie Bar’s treats to be brought right to your table. Our sweet server surprised me and brought one of their Birthday Cake cookies topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to our table on my birthday last month. Much to my delight, the cookie was delicious, and tasted exactly like birthday cake.

As you might imagine, I have a few Cookie Bar varieties on my wish list to try on future visits. Among those that I have my eye on are the Fudge Bomb and the Double Chocolate Cloud (yep, there’s a chocolate theme here…yummm.)

So, now that I’ve made your Disney cookie list just a bit longer, which cookie location takes your top spot for your next trip to the magic? In my mind, there’s no wrong answer!
