Disney World Bus Verification: What’s Changing?

June 25, 2026
By

Some big changes are coming for bus transportation from Disney Springs. As of June 28, 2026, guests looking to board buses from Disney Springs to the resorts will need to scan their MagicBands or Key to the World card to verify that they are a resort guest, have a resort dining reservation, or have a reservation for a resort recreational activity.

Does This Mean You Can’t Visit Other Disney World Resorts?

No. If you have a resort reservation for any of the Disney World Resorts, you’ll be able to board a bus. It doesn’t have to be a reservation for the resort that you are visiting. For example, if you are staying at the BoardWalk but wanted to visit the Grand Floridian after visiting Disney Springs, you could still take a bus to the Grand Floridian.

For guests staying at Disney World Resorts, including Guests renting DVC reservations, nothing really changes with this new policy other than the addition of a checkpoint to show your resort reservation.

Are Any Other Modes of Transportation Affected?

Besides the Disney Springs resort buses, the resort boats that travel from Disney Springs to Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West will have similar restrictions. You will need to present your MagicBand or Key to the World card to show you have a resort reservation, dining reservation, or experience reservation.

Can You Still Resort Hop When Not Staying on Property?

This is a question that many Florida locals, especially annual passholders, may have. You can still resort hop, but you won’t be able to use Disney Springs as your hub. Instead, you can park hop between the theme parks.

For example, you could park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then take the monorail to get to the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, or Contemporary. For EPCOT resorts like the Beach Club and BoardWalk, you could park at Hollywood Studios and then walk or take the Friendship boat to the Resorts.
