Freebies at Disney World
It’s true that Disney vacations can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean you also have to spend a lot on fun extras during your trip. Here are a few things you can get for free at the Disney World parks and resorts.
Celebration Buttons
Disney World is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or really any milestone, big or small! To mark the occasion, be sure to pick up a celebration button. You can find these celebration buttons at most gift shops, resort front desks, or guest services.
Pixie Dust
Tinker Bell isn’t the only one with pixie dust! If you visit the Magic Kingdom, you can get pixie dusted with glitter. Head over to Sir Mickey’s in Fantasyland behind Cinderella Castle, and you can ask a cast member for a dose of pixie dust.
Soft Drink Tastings
Many people know that you can get free ice water at the quick service restaurants, but did you know that there is a place where you can get free samples of soda? Over at Club Cool in EPCOT, you’ll find an assortment of Coca-Cola soft drinks from around the world that you can sample for free. This includes the infamous and bitter Beverly apéritif from Italy, the tropical fruit flavored Country Club Merengue from the Dominican Republic, Minute Maid Joy Apple Lychee from Korea, Royal Wattamelon from the Philippines, and Sprite Cucumber from Russia.
Photos
Disney offers its PhotoPass service to photograph and capture all of your magical vacation memories. However, at up to $210 for the duration of your trip, the service can be pricey. As an alternative, you can always ask the cast members to use your phone to take photographs for you.
Wilderness Explorer Badges
Just like Russell from “Up,” you can become a Wilderness Explorer! With this free scavenger hunt-like activity in Animal Kingdom, you can earn badges at various stations in the park as you learn about topics like the wilderness, conservation, fossils, and endangered species. To start, pick up a handbook at any of the Wilderness Explorer stations in the park.
Campfire Marshmallows
The fun isn’t limited to the theme parks. There are always lots of great activities at each of the Disney resorts. At night, gather around the campfire to toast some complimentary marshmallows.
Take advantage of these fun free opportunities during your next trip to Disney World! Start planning your trip by booking a stay at a DVC resort to get the best amenities and locations.
