DVC Resort Activities

January 23, 2023
By

When you stay at a DVC resort, you don’t necessarily have to go to the parks to find fun activities for the day.  In fact, a lot of DVC guests like to reserve a resort day to enjoy all the amenities that the resorts have to offer.  It’s a great way to relax after busy days in the theme parks!

Community Halls

Some of the DVC resorts have community halls, which have everything from board games and video games to movies and arts and crafts.  This is also where you can find equipment for the basketball and tennis courts and grills.  Pin enthusiasts will be happy to find that pin trading is available as well.  Community halls are the perfect place to go for a quiet day away from the parks or rainy days when you don’t feel like braving the elements.  You can find out which resorts have community halls from this webpage.

Poolside Games

Every resort offers poolside games to add a little more fun in and out of the pool.  Cast members lead guests in games like trivia and races.  Resorts that do not have a community hall sometimes offer crafts like Mickey tie-dye by the pool too.

Scavenger Hunts

Disney’s Riviera Resort Signature Art Collection Search

Scavenger hunts are a fun way to explore the resorts!  At Riviera, you can do the Signature Art Collection Search, a scavenger hunt that is themed around finding the beautiful artwork throughout the resort.  You can pick up a map and stickers at Riviera’s Eventi Room.  If you are staying at Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge, you can find seasonal scavenger hunts that are themed to various holidays.  Speak to a cast member at the front desk to get started.

Specialty Crafts

Besides the arts and crafts offered in the community halls, some resorts like Bay Lake Tower and the Grand Floridian offer separate craft activities.  At Bay Lake Tower, you can paint a light-up ceramic castle.  At the Grand Floridian you can visit the Enchanted Rose lounge during the daytime and paint a book-shaped ceramic box as a nod to Belle’s favorite pastime.  Not only are these fun activities, but you get to take home a souvenir that is unique to you!

BBQ Areas

Host your own barbeque by taking advantage of the outdoor grills at the resorts!

Movie Under the Stars

A nice way to cap off your resort day is to enjoy watching a beloved Disney movie outdoors and toasting some marshmallows over the campfire.  You can check your resort’s recreation calendar to find out which movie will be shown.
