Can We TACO About the Arrival of Ramone’s Cantina to the Disney Dream?!
I recently had the chance to sail aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship for the first time in 2 1/2 years, and let me just say that it was an absolute delight to once again be back onboard. One of the things that I found most exciting during my sailing was something that was added to the Disney Dream during her November 2024 dry dock: Ramone’s Cantina in the Flo’s V-8 Cafe section of the ship.
If the idea of a cantina being an option among a DCL ship’s counter server offerings, you’d be right. Donald’s Cantina on the Disney Wish was a slam dunk hit with guests from the word go when the ship first sailed back in 2022. We hungry cruisers couldn’t get enough of the fresh, Chipotle-adjacent build-your-own burrito bowls and tacos spot, and out of all of the options offered in the Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods area, Donald’s Cantina was the one with the consistently longest lines.

Fast forward two years and a dry dock later and guests can now find the same incredibly fresh and delicious options at Ramone’s Cantina on the Disney Dream. Let’s take a gander at what’s currently being offered and talk through my thoughts about my lunch at Ramone’s.
First things first: please know that if you’re stopping by Ramone’s Cantina at the height of lunch or dinner (the Cantina is open until 6pm), you’ll likely need to wait in a short standby line. Just like it’s cousin on the Wish, Ramone’s Cantina has the longest lines, but for good reason. When you know that the food you’re going to walk away with will be worth the wait, it makes your time in line a bit more palatable.

A cast member will let you know when to step up to the window and start making your selections. You’ll let the cast member behind the counter know what you’d like – whether it be a bowl or tacos – and then proceed to ask them to load them up according to your preferences.
The possible toppings for your dish are everything that you’d expect, and a few things that you might not. I opted for tacos, which is always my natural inclination. I do admit that I enjoy crunchy taco shells far more than soft shells, so if you’re like me, please know that crunchy taco shells aren’t offered at Ramone’s. Deep, cleansing breath. May it comfort you to know that once you’re handed your glorious dish, you won’t care that it’s built using soft taco shells. It’s that good.

I opted for two tacos using their fajita chicken. The chicken is lightly seasoned and moist, and really perfect. You can opt to add guacamole, salsa rojo, corn salsa, shredded lettuce, queso fresco, shredded Monterey and Oaxaca cheeses, and pico de Gallo. Other options include fajita beef, pinto beans, poblano cilantro rice, brown rice, and fajita veggies.

As I proceeded to list off the ingredients, the cast member behind the line lovingly and carefully crafted my tacos, and I have to say that the sight of those beautiful things topped with gobs of queso fresco and fresh romaine lettuce made me incredibly happy.
My hubby’s chicken bowl was the perfect option for him, and he didn’t miss the chance try out some of the sauces available in the dispensers just across from Ramone’s.
Ramone’s Cantina is one of the best things to come to the Disney Dream in a long time. It’s perfect for those wanting a bit of Tex-Mex, or something light and fresh. It’s my hope that a cantina of sorts comes to each of the remaining ships in the very near future.
