7 Tips & Tricks for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is one of the most wonderful parties of the year!! Disney goes all out, Santa Claus visits, it snows, Elsa lights the castle, Minnie puts on a great fireworks show and so much more! Rides are transformed into holiday spectaculars, cookies and hot chocolate are in abundance, and dance parties abound!! Basically, it’s the most wonderful time of the year!! We’re sharing our top 7 tips & tricks for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
Get A Good Seat for the Shows at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
In my opinion, the shows are top priority to take in because you cannot see them unless you attend the Christmas party. My top tip for shows is to find a good seat sometime around 7:15 pm down in front of the castle (or Main Street if you want to enjoy the snow fall from Main Street). Make sure you are on the outside of the gutters (for the parade). From this location, you can enjoy Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, A Frozen Holiday Wish, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas Parade, and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show! The first show, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration starts at 7:40 pm.
Check MDE for Character Meets
My Disney Experience holds the keys to where you can find each character. Moana seems to be a highly sought after character, so you may want to visit her right away, or during one of the parades/shows. She can be found in the Tiki Room. Of course, Santa Claus will be there! And he can be found in the Main Street Courtyard. Mickey Mouse, Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws and Sally may all be found in the Town Square Theater. There are many many more characters that show up to the party: every prince and princess, the Seven Dwarfs, Scrooge McDuck, Santa Goofy and so much more! If you are going to spend time on rides, these may be the ones you want to make an effort to ride as they are extra special once sunset happens!
Start The Party Early
The actual party starts at 7pm, and guests who are not attending the party are encouraged to leave a little before that time. However, you can get into the party at 4pm! If you want to make the most of your ticket, that’s a good time to get to the party! However, if you are a DVC member, you can get into the party even sooner at 2pm!!
Stay at Bay Lake Tower
No better place to stay than Bay Lake Tower after one of Magic Kingdom’s late night parties!! Bay Lake is only a 10 minute walk away, which means you could be climbing into bed before some of the buses leave for the other Disney resorts!! Pack Comfortable Shoes & Clothes for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
It’s going to be a long night and you want to be comfortable! Good comfortable shoes are a must! I had on my trusty tennis shoes that gave excellent support and kept my feet warm. MVMCP occurs around the end of fall/beginning of winter. So although it may be Florida, the temperatures can still drop. I ended up wearing my winter coat to the Christmas party and didn’t regret that decision one bit as the temperatures were in the 40s. You may go on a night that doesn’t dip that low, but you’ll want to pack layers and jackets to be prepared for anything!! It may take little longer to get through security, but you won’t be sorry when the sun goes down!
