Point Swap Programs: Use Your DVC Points for Other Vacations and Experiences
DVC members know that they have decades of magical Disney vacations to come, but what happens when they want to try a different destination or experience for vacation? While Disney’s point exchanges for Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney are steep, and exchanges through Interval International may not always feel like a great value for your points, DVC Rental Store offers some great alternatives through its Point Swap Programs. These programs allow you to use your DVC points for other vacations without blackout dates, the usual $95 point exchange fee that Disney Vacation Club charges, or any restrictions for DVC points purchased on the resale market.
DVC Rental Store offers six different Point Swap Programs: Cruise Swap, Univeral Orlando Resort Swap, Sandals Vacation Swap, Adventure Swap, Beach Vacation Home Swap, and Orlando Vacation Home Swap.
Cruise Swap
Use your points to board the Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, or even Disney’s newest ship, the Wish! You’ll get all of the Disney magic that you love from character experiences to live shows but in a more relaxed setting on the seas. You can travel to ports of call in the Caribbean and Bermuda, Alaska, the Mediterranean, Hawaii, and more.
Universal Orlando Resort Swap
Unleash your inner adventurer at Universal Orlando Resort—where every adventure is yours to discover. Swap your DVC points for a Universal Orlando vacation, and experience thrilling attractions, a variety of hotels and restaurants, two theme parks, and the first-ever water theme park, Volcano Bay.
Sandals Resort Swap
Swapping your DVC points for a Sandals Resort Vacation is an excellent way to get the most out of your Disney Vacation Club membership. Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway or a family adventure, Sandals offers something for everyone. Adventure Swap

How Do the Point Swap Programs Work?
You’ll work with an experienced Swap Advisor who will help you find the cruise or trip that suits your needs. Then you will receive a quote with the total cost of the vacation and the number of points you need to rent to cover that cost. If you don’t have the full amount of points needed, you can pay cash to make up the difference. Once the quote is finalized, DVC Rental Store will take care of renting your points and booking your trip.
The Point Swap Programs not only give your points greater flexibility, but they also provide greater value compared to using points to book directly with Disney. To illustrate, let’s take a closer look at the Disney Cruise Line Swap. If you were to book a 7-Night Alaskan Cruise on the Disney Wonder, Departing August 21, 2023, for two adults, it would cost 582 points plus a $95 point exchange fee if you were to book directly through Disney. However, if you were to rent points via DVC Rental Store’s Point Swap Program for up to $18 per point, you would only need 261 points, and there would not be an exchange fee. Compared to booking through Disney, the Point Swap Program would provide a total savings of 321 points and $95 in exchange fees.
