New Shows Coming to Walt Disney World This Summer!
There’s something magical in the air this summer at Walt Disney World—and no, it’s not just the Florida humidity! Disney recently dropped some huge entertainment news that has me (and probably you too) buzzing with excitement. From villainous mischief at Hollywood Studios to the return of a beloved Disney tradition at Magic Kingdom, there’s so much to look forward to. Let’s dive in!
“Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” – Coming May 27th to Hollywood Studios
I’ve always felt that Sunset Showcase has been one of those corners of Hollywood Studios that had so much potential, yet it never really got the love it deserved. (Sorry, Lightning McQueen fans!) But starting May 27th, it’s finally getting its moment to shine with Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After—and I, for one, cannot wait.
This brand-new stage show pulls back the curtain on the baddies we love to hate. Maleficent, Captain Hook, Cruella de Vil… they’ve shattered the Magic Mirror and stepped into our world, ready to plead their case. Who’s really the most misunderstood villain of them all? That’s up to us, the audience, to decide—but beware… someone might be hiding a poisoned apple.

The show promises dazzling effects, clever humor, and the kind of theatrical flair that Hollywood Studios has been needing. And the fact that Disney has spent two years perfecting the tech and stage design? Yeah, I’m setting multiple alarms for showtimes.
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” – Also Debuting May 27th
Also making a splash on May 27th is The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, another reimagined show at Hollywood Studios, this time in Animation Courtyard.
I still remember the magic of the original Mermaid stage show, but this new version takes it to a whole new level. Think bold digital puppetry, stunning effects, and Ariel’s treasure trove brought to life like never before. Classic songs like “Part of Your World” and “Under the Sea” will be joined by new-to-the-theater numbers like “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl”—so yes, you’re going to hum along (don’t fight it).

This refreshed production really leans into Ariel’s unique view of the world, mixing dreamy visuals with imaginative storytelling. Plus, it gives Animation Courtyard a much-needed spark of energy.
“Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away” – A New Nighttime Parade at Magic Kingdom
Okay… now let’s talk about what’s really got me emotional: the return of a nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom!
It’s been years since the Main Street Electrical Parade rolled down Main Street, U.S.A., and I never thought we’d actually see another nighttime spectacular like that again. But here we are, and Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away is on the horizon—literally.
This brand-new parade doesn’t have an official debut date yet, but it’s already stirring up excitement with its blend of nostalgic nods and forward-looking magic. The creative team is clearly pulling inspiration from Disney animation history—Mary Blair’s Cinderella concept art even plays a big role in one of the floats—and the combination of starlit costumes, synchronized lighting, and storytelling sounds nothing short of breathtaking.

Just picture it: the glowing floats, the music filling the night air, the lights reflecting off Cinderella Castle… it’s pure Disney magic. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to stand on Main Street with my Mickey pretzel in hand, soaking in every shimmering second.
