Is 1900 Park Fare Worth It for Dinner?

April 30, 2024
By

After four years, 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian has finally reopened!  The beautifully renovated restaurant offers a character buffet for breakfast and dinner.  Dinner costs $66 per adult and $41 per child (ages 3 to 9) and currently does not offer discounts for annual passholders or Disney Vacation Club members, so is this character dinner worthwhile?

What’s at the Buffet?

At dinner, 1900 Park Fare offers Tiana’s gumbo with spicy andouille sausage, prime rib, baked salmon with saffron-lemon butter, peel-n-eat shrimp, curry-roasted chicken, and porchetta.  There’s plenty of variety with salads, soup, ImpossibleTM merguez sausage with zucchini noodles, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, green beans, and roasted garlic sausage, just to name a few of the other dishes on the buffet.

Kids will find familiar favorites such as pizza, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, and corn.  Picky eaters will appreciate the plain pasta with marinara sauce and turkey meatballs all served separately.

Leave plenty of room for dessert!  The fan favorite Grand Floridian strawberry soup is available and can be topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.  There are lots of miniature desserts to try like the warm chocolate cake with vanilla crème anglaise, fudge brownie with triple-chocolate mousse, and lemon-blueberry cheesecake.  There’s also the gluten-free toasted coconut cake with passion fruit custard and hibiscus crème or the Grand Floridian financier, which is an almond cake with sea salt caramel and toasted meringue.

Which Characters Do You Meet?

In the past, 1900 Park Fare was home to characters like Cinderella, Prince Charming, Cinderella’s stepmother and stepsisters, and Alice, but this has changed since the restaurant’s reopening.  Now, you’ll be greeted by characters such as Cinderella, Mirabel from Encanto, Aladdin, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, and Snow White.  Characters are subject to change, but typically, you’ll meet 4 of these characters during your meal.

While the combination of characters may seem a bit random at first glance, the underlying theme is wishes.  Each of these characters made a wish that came true.  During your meal, you’ll have an opportunity to make a wish of your own!

Overall, 1900 Park Fare offers a good variety of quality dishes, and the fun character interactions and wish-making ceremony create a memorable experience for guests young and young at heart!

Enjoy 1900 Park Fare the next time you stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian! Check availability for DVC villas, or browse the confirmed reservations.
