Five Must-try HITS at this Year’s Festival of the Arts!

January 29, 2025
By

Friends, I am happy to say that a special time of year is here: it’s our moment to stop and take in all of the tasty treats being offered at the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! Bless us; it’s a moment that us Disney Parks food fans long for, and it’s one that I don’t take lightly. Here’s my chance to lean across this virtual kitchen table and suggest the items on which you might want to spend your Disney snack dollars. Ready? Grab a pen and paper and let’s get going!

Chorizo and Potato Empanada

Let’s begin things on a good note. Actually, let’s begin things on THE BEST note: the Chorizo and Potato Empanada ($6.75) at Vibrante & Vivido: Encanto Cocina. This has, for me, been the absolutely belle of the ball since its debut a few years ago. Its brightly colored sauces made of turmeric and annatto dress this beauty up, and the inclusion of the perfect amount of heat from the chorizo lets guests know immediately that this is a snack worthy of attention. It’s stellar, and one that I return to time and again. Also noteworthy is the fact that you get a substantial and filling snack for your money. It’s a win-win, for sure.

Deviled Egg Trio

For the love of all things springtime traditional favorite, please make your way around to The Artist’s Table in the American Adventure and get the Deviled Egg Trio ($6.25). First of all, who doesn’t love a sampler platter? Secondly, the flavor combinations featured in this item are something you need to know about. Pimento cheese hasn’t been a lifelong love of mine like it has been for my Southern-born mom, but let me say that I didn’t mind it at all in deviled egg form. The Green Goddess deviled egg was herbaceous and fresh, with the taste of parsley being in the forefront. My favorite was the BLT deviled egg, which funnily enough did not feature tomato or lettuce, but was lifted up by the sweet-tasting brown sugared bacon that predominated the flavor profile.

Sushi Donut

The Sushi Donut at the Goshiki Food Studio is another festival creation that I highly recommend you try. It’s possible that you aren’t a sushi fan as it seems to be a little polarizing, but if you’re even slightly sushi curious, please try the Sushi Donut. As I’m sure you can tell from the picture above, it’s more sushi than donut, but it’s the perfect beginner-level sushi as it acts as a sampler of sorts. It’s fresh and delicious, and you might just find yourself actually enjoying sushi for the very first time. Don’t forget to utilize the sauces that are artistically displayed on the side of the donut; they’ll heighten your sushi experience!

Wild Mushroom Risotto

If there’s one item that is perfectly crafted for a wintertime festival menu (even if that festival happens to occur in Florida), it’s the Wild Mushroom Risotto ($9.75) . It’s a bowlful of comfort and deliciousness, friends. And what makes this dish even better is that it’s plant-based. Please don’t miss this item as you make your way around the World Showcase. Find it at the Gourmet Landscapes Food Studio.

SURPRISE HIT: Black Cocoa Brownie

The Black Cocoa Brownie ($6.50) is both beautiful and creative and is found at the new Fictional Victuals Food Studio. Friends, I am happy to report that the cocoa flavor is DEEP, and the ube ice cream brings a bright and slightly berry-adjacent flavor. Ube is a purple sweet potato that hails from the Philippines, and all I can say is that we need more ube ice cream in our lives. The toile cookie tasted like Frosted Flakes, which struck me as unusual, but fun. This is a hit, and I’ll be getting it again soon.

What would you add to my list of hits at EPCOT’s 2025 Festival of the Arts? Which of the new additions are on your radar? I’ve got the Escargot en Chocolat (which, I’m happy to say, is escargot-free), the Raspberry Pastry Tart, and the intriguing Egg Tart on my list for my second trip to the festival!

I hope to run into you in the park! Happy eating, friends.
