Which DVC Resorts Should You Book 11 Months Ahead?

October 16, 2026
By

When you want to rent a stay at a Deluxe Disney Resort, one of the biggest factors in determining whether you get that reservation or not is room availability. The best way to get the room that you want is to submit your rental request 11 months out, which is the earliest that DVC Members can book a room on your behalf.

While some resorts may have availability after the 11-month mark, there are some resorts, room types, or travel periods where the 11-month booking window is more critical.

Stays at Smaller DVC Resorts

Some DVC Resorts are smaller than others, which means that there are fewer rooms available to book. These resorts include:

The Beach Club and Villas at Grand Californian also happen to be some of the more popular resorts. The combination of few rooms and high demand for rooms can lead to more competition when it comes to booking. This is why the 11-month booking window can be highly valuable for stays at the Beach Club and Grand Californian.

Studio Stays

There are a few different types of Studios among the DVC Resorts:

  • Duo Studios
  • Tower Studios
  • Deluxe Studios
  • Resort Studios
Polynesian Duo Studio

These rooms are the smallest among the DVC accommodations and require the least number of points to book. This also makes them the least expensive accommodations to book since fewer points translate into lower rental costs, which also makes them popular to book.

Since Studios are typically the first room type to book up at any DVC Resort, it helps to book them closer to the 11-month booking window unless you are looking for a room at one of the larger DVC Resorts, such as Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, or Kidani Village (Animal Kingdom Villas).

Vacations in Early December

Guests planning a Disney World vacation may consider early December to be a travel period typically associated with lower crowds, but for DVC Members, early December is actually one of the most popular (if not the most popular) time of year to book! This is due to the low points needed to book that time of year and all the holiday festivities such as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney Jollywood Nights, and EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

This is the one time of year that most rooms book up across the Disney World DVC Resorts, not just the Studios.  If you’re thinking of planning an early December getaway, you’ll want to be ready with your request by the prior January.
