At Which DVC Resort Should I Rent Points for the Easiest Transportation?
One of the great perks of staying at a Disney-owned-and-operated resort is the complimentary transportation to the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. While all DVC resorts offer bus transportation, a few resorts have one or more additional modes of transportation, such as boats or the Skyliner, that can make it even easier to get around. Here are the DVC resorts that offer alternative modes of transportation to not 1 but 2 theme parks!
Monorail Resorts
The monorail resorts include the Grand Floridian, Bay Lake Tower, and the Polynesian. With monorail access, these resorts can easily take you to the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT. If you are traveling with a stroller or ECV, the monorail can be incredibly convenient since you can board easily. You do not need to collapse strollers prior to boarding, not even double strollers!
If you plan to spend a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom, Bay Lake Tower and the Grand Floridian are great choices. You are so close to the Magic Kingdom that you can walk there from Bay Lake Tower or the Grand Floridian. While the walk from Bay Lake Tower is slightly shorter, the walk from the Grand Floridian takes about 15 minutes. If that doesn’t suit you, the Grand Floridian also offers boats to take you to and from the Magic Kingdom. The Polynesian doesn’t have a walking path to the Magic Kingdom. However, it does share the boats with the Grand Floridian as another transportation option.
Out of the monorail resorts, the Polynesian may be the best option if you plan to travel to EPCOT often. With the Polynesian situated right next to the Transportation and Ticket Center, you can take the monorail directly to EPCOT from there instead of taking the resort monorail line to the Transportation and Ticket Center and transferring monorail lines. It can save you a lot of time!
EPCOT Resorts
As the name implies, the EPCOT resorts, including the Beach Club, BoardWalk, and Riviera, have easy access to EPCOT as well as Hollywood Studios. From the Beach Club and BoardWalk, you can walk to both parks or take the boat. The boat is a perfect option when you’re tired at the end of the day, or you just want to avoid the Florida heat. If you have an ECV or a stroller that you prefer not to collapse, you can board from the back of the boat. When staying at the Beach Club, you can also opt to take the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios to International Gateway at EPCOT for a shorter walk back to your resort.
From Riviera, you can take the Skyliner directly to EPCOT or transfer at Caribbean Beach for the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios. Like the monorail, the Skyliner is accessible for ECVs and strollers though side-by-side double strollers do need to be collapsed prior to boarding.
Rent DVC points to stay at the monorail resorts or the EPCOT resorts to be a quick monorail, boat, or Skyliner ride away from the magic of the theme parks! Check availability and pricing or browse the confirmed reservations.
