We are proud to introduce our “Cancel for any Reason” Point Protection Plan (PPP). This optional plan is available to all guests that secure a non-discounted reservation with the DVC Rental Store.
The Cost to add the PPP to your reservation is $3.00/rented point with a minimum of $300 and must be purchased when making the remaining deposit payment (50% deposit), not the $100 Security Deposit. This option lets you cancel for any reason – no questions asked – up to three days prior to your check-in date.
If purchased, the PPP reimburses a certain AMOUNT PER POINT RENTED of the accommodations payments** that you have made (up to $19/point) for your reservation. The amount (DOLLAR PER POINT) which is reimbursed depends on when the cancellation occurs. The chart below provides a breakdown of coverage.
** Coverage is for accommodations reserved through the DVC Rental Store only. Coverage excludes all other expenses. In most cases, we will be able to issue a refund for Disney Dining Plan payments. Be sure to check our FAQ page for more information.
Please be aware that if you decide against adding the Point Protection Plan to your reservation, you will have no coverage in place and would receive no refund for any reason, including but not limited to hurricanes, tornadoes, snowstorms, disease, pandemics or acts of terrorism. Additionally, there is no coverage offered which would allow you to move your travel dates to another time, regardless of availability at the Disney Vacation Club resorts. This is true regardless of any overtures or allowances that the Walt Disney Company might make for other guests that book directly through them or your renting DVC Member.
If you decide to add our Point Protection Plan to your reservation, you will be able to alter the reservation to make changes such as switching the main guest, making travel date changes or villa category or resort changes pending availability.* These changes to the fundamentals of your reservation would be handled as a PPP cancellation where you would receive a refund according to the Cancellation Tier chart below. Your revised stay would be booked as a new reservation. The new reservation will have no ties to the original renting Member or reservation. Your PPP Premium Cost would not be refunded.
* The Point Protection Program is a tiered program with lower refund amounts as you approach your check-in date. No refund will be made once you are inside of 3 days of your check-in date. Because of this, there will not be coverage under the program should a sudden adverse weather event occur inside of the 3-days prior to check-in window. The “Cancel for any Reason” Point Protection Plan (PPP) is a great option for anyone that is not 100% certain that they will be able to fulfill their reservation. Adding this plan to your reservation provides a little assurance that after all…there is always “A Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow.”
- Due to the uncertainty of COVID 19, our “Cancel for Any Reason” Point Protection Plan (PPP) will not be available for purchase for any reservation prior to an October 1st, 2020 Check In Date.
- The cost of the “Cancel for Any Reason” Point Protection Plan is $3.00/rented point with a minimum of $300. All reservations that require 100 points or less have a purchase price of $300.
