Which DVC Resort Should You Book for Spring Break?

September 2, 2026
By

It may still be summertime, but the booking window is already open for DVC Resort stays in Spring 2027!  For the best availability, you’ll want to start planning your Disney vacation now.  If you’re thinking of a spring break getaway, here are some suggestions for where to stay.

For the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

All of the EPCOT festivals are fun to visit, but the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival stands out with its colorful flowers and topiaries, Garden Rocks concert series, and of course the garden-fresh dishes from the Outdoor Kitchens.  The festival typically starts in March and ends by early June.

If you plan to spend more time in EPCOT during your spring break trip, consider staying at the Beach Club, BoardWalk, or Riviera.  The Beach Club is the closest to the back entrance of EPCOT, International Gateway, which leads you right to World Showcase.  The BoardWalk is slightly further than the Beach Club but still easily within walking distance, and both resorts offer transportation via the Friendship boats if you prefer to save your steps for the park.  Riviera is just a few minutes away from International Gateway via the Skyliner.

For Springtime Surprise

It’s helpful to stay at a Disney Resort for a runDisney weekend since runners and spectators get complimentary bus transportation to the run expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex and the races.  This makes it much easier to get around, especially in the early morning hours when heading to the races since there are lots of detours due to road closures.  DVC Resorts can be especially great picks for runDisney weekends since you have larger rooms and extra amenities like large soaking tubs in the One Bedroom Villas and larger units.

If you’re looking for a quiet resort to relax pre- or post-race, the laid back Old Key West can be a perfect place to stay.  The rooms there are some of the largest among the DVC Resorts.  For example, you’ll find 390-square-foot Deluxe Studios and 942-square-foot One Bedroom Villas at Old Key West.  If you love the quieter atmosphere of Old Key West, but the lack of a guaranteed elevator in your building is a deal breaker for a race weekend, you may also want to consider the peaceful Saratoga Springs.

For Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

EPCOT isn’t the only Disney theme park to host a Food & Wine Festival!  At Disney California Adventure, the Food & Wine Festival typically takes place around March and April.  Throughout the festival, you can savor tasty small plates, craft beer, and specialty wines from the Festival Marketplaces.  There are also mixology and cocktail making seminars and live musical performances at the Paradise Garden Bandstand and Palisades Stage.  You may even catch the Jammin’ Chefs performing along with Clarabelle Cow, Daisy Duck, Pluto, and Chip ‘n’ Dale.

Grand Californian

If you want to stay as close as possible to Disney California Adventure, there’s no better place to be than the Grand Californian.  The Craftsman-style resort has its own special entrance to Disney California Adventure!  Availability can be tough to find at the Grand Californian, so the Villas at Disneyland Hotel is also a good option since it’s still only a short walk away from Disney California Adventure.
