Which Confirmed Reservations Rent Out Best?

January 2, 2025
By

Confirmed reservations are a great way to rent out your DVC points when you are unable to travel.  These are resort reservations that you have already booked and put up for rent as is.  While confirmed reservations are a convenient rental option for DVC Members, some confirmed reservations rent out more easily than others.  Here are some general tips to keep in mind when renting out a confirmed reservation.

The Beach Club Villas and Polynesian Villas & Bungalows tend to be the most popular DVC resorts for rentals.  The Beach Club offers a prime location near EPCOT and Hollywood Studios and is home to arguably the best resort pool on Walt Disney World property, Stormalong Bay.  While the Polynesian has always been a popular resort for its tropical vibes and location along the monorail loop, there’s renewed excitement for the resort now that the new Island Tower has opened.

Holidays and Weekends Make Great Last Minute Getaways

DVC Members are often accustomed to planning well in advance since the booking window opens 11 months in advance of your check-in date.  However, this also means that DVC resort availability is more limited as you get closer to your check-in date.

For guests who may not plan as far in advance, confirmed reservations can be a good way to find a reservation for a relatively last minute trip, especially for more popular travel times such as holidays.  Similarly, weekend confirmed reservations can be the perfect last minute getaway for Florida locals who don’t need to worry about flights.

More Point Expensive Reservations May Not Rent Out As Quickly

With DVC, the larger the room or the longer the stay, the more points the reservation will cost.  More points also makes the confirmed reservation more expensive, which may not be as attractive to guests.  For example, the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs can be a wonderful place to stay when you want a more relaxing vacation with a larger travel party, but it costs 38 to 76 points per night.  That’s more than twice the number of points for a Saratoga Springs Deluxe Studio and still more points than a Two Bedroom Villa with the same capacity, which may make the Treehouse Villa a less appealing accommodation to rent out.

You Can Be Flexible with Price Per Point

When you put your reservation up for rent with the DVC Rental Store, you choose the lowest price per point you would like to accept.  The DVC Rental Store offers up to $20 per point for the most popular resorts and peak seasons like Christmas.  Nevertheless, if you are highly motivated to rent out your reservation, you can opt to ask for a lower price per point.  The lower price point can be more enticing to guests and give you the best opportunity to rent out your reservation.
