Where to Stay During the Stormalong Bay Refurbishment

July 30, 2024
By

One of the main draws of staying at the Beach Club is its feature pool, Storamlong Bay.  The 3-acre pool is considered the best resort pool on Walt Disney World property.  It is more like a water park with a lazy river, sandy beach, whirlpool spas, and the 230-foot-long Flying Jib water slide.

However, Stormalong Bay will be unavailable from January 2025 through June 2025 as it undergoes refurbishment.  If pool time is a priority for you, here are some other DVC resorts to consider booking during Stormalong Bay’s refurbishment.

Polynesian

Lava Pool at the Polynesian

The Polynesian is another popular resort with great pools.  Just outside the Great Ceremonial House is the zero-entry Lava Pool with its volcano, waterfall feature, and 142-foot water slide.  Located along the Seven Seas Lagoon, the Lava Pool offers a beautiful view of Cinderella Castle, which also means that you can view Magic Kingdom fireworks from there!

Next to the Lava Pool, younger kids can enjoy the Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area with its mini water slides and tiki water features.  At the resort’s leisure pool, the Oasis Pool, you can rent shaded patios with lounge chairs for up to 6 guests.  From the patios, guests can order food to be delivered from the Oasis Bar & Grill.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Whether you stay at Jambo House or Kidani Village, you can visit the pools at both buildings for twice the fun!  There’s the Uzima Springs Pool at Jambo House or the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani Village.  The Uzima Springs Pool has a 67-foot slide and is located near the Uzima Savanna, so be sure to keep an eye out for animals like flamingos, giraffes, impalas, gazelles, and more.

The Samawati Springs Pool has a 128-foot waterslide and is especially kid-friendly with the Uwanja Camp water playground for children ages 4 and under.  They can climb cargo crates, play amongst the bubbling geysers, and shoot water from the water cannons.

Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs is often overlooked, but for pool fans, it has a lot to offer!  The resort offers two feature pools (High Rock Springs and the Paddock Pool) and three leisure pools (by the Grandstand, Congress Park, and the Treehouse Villas).  Both feature pools have water slides and host pool games and activities.  They also have kids’ water play areas.

Beach Club

Dune Cove at the Beach Club

If you stay at the Beach Club during Stormalong Bay’s refurbishment, you won’t be completely without a pool!  You can still enjoy the resort’s quiet pools.  There’s the Tidal Pool at the Beach Club and the DVC quiet pool, the Dune Cove.  Guests can also use the Admiral Pool, which is the quiet pool at the Beach Club’s sister resort, the Yacht Club.

Whichever resort you choose, you can get a great deal on a DVC reservation by renting points through the DVC Rental Store!  Check availability and pricing or browse the confirmed reservations.
