TRON Lightcycle / Run Opens April 4th!
TRON Lightcycle / Run will open at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom on April 4th, 2023! This highly anticipated attraction is based on the popular Tron movies and is sure to be a hit with guests of all ages.
Guests may have the early opportunity to experience TRON Lightcycle / Run beginning March 20th during a limited soft open via virtual queue or purchase of Individual Lightning Lane entry.
Earlier this year at the D23 Expo, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, shared the exciting news of this brand new attraction coming to the Tomorrowland area of Magic Kingdom earlier this year at the D23 Expo!
Ride Overview
TRON Lightcycle / Run is a high-speed coaster that takes riders through the Grid, just like in the movies. Guests will board their own lightcycles and race through the digital world at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour! The attraction includes a section where riders will go upside down, so it’s sure to be a thrilling ride.
According to Disney Parks Blog, “When guests enter the queue at Magic Kingdom, they’ll feel as if they’ve been digitized and transported to the Grid for a special Lightcycle race. It’s your Team Blue against the Grid’s menacing Programs, Team Orange. Your goal is to be the first to race through eight Energy Gates and secure victory. The attraction will be one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world.”
