Tips for Renting DVC Points
Renting DVC points is a great way to save on your Disney accommodations while staying at some of the best resorts! If you are new to renting points, here are some tips to help you find the reservation that you want.
Place Your Request Early
If you have specific dates or a certain resort or room type in mind, your odds of getting what you want are always best at 11-months out from check-in. This is the earliest that a DVC member can book a room for you. This is especially true of popular travel periods like the fall during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival and holiday season or smaller resorts like the Beach Club or Grand Californian that have limited inventory.
Be Flexible
If you can be flexible with your exact travel dates, resort, or room type, you are also more likely to get a room. For instance, Deluxe Studios at the Grand Floridian tend to book up quickly since there aren’t that many of them, but if you don’t mind staying in a Resort Studio instead, you’ll find greater availability since the entire Big Pine Key building at the Grand Floridian is composed of Resort Studios.
Check for Discounted Reservations
From time to time you can find discounted confirmed reservations. To find these offerings, be sure to use the filter and toggle “Discounts.” You’ll find reservations for as little as $15/point. These are perfect for a last minute getaway!
Take Advantage of Monthly Payment Plans
The DVC Rental Store makes it easy to rent points since you only need to pay 25% of your rental cost upfront. To make rentals even more accessible, they offer the option to finance your DVC rental through Bread PayTM. This allows renters to make low monthly payments. If you would like to check your eligibility or interest rate, the online application will not affect your credit score.
Feel Free to Add the Dining Plan
Even when renting points for a trip to Walt Disney World, you can add the Disney Dining Plan if you wish! Dining plans can only be added to your reservation by the Member who booked your reservation. To purchase the dining plan, visit the DVC Rental Store guest portal and request information. The Reservation Specialist Team will then contact the Member to have your dining plan added.
