Staying Active on Your Disney Trip
For some people, park hopping alone doesn’t quite cut it as exercise. Besides getting your steps in on your park days or swimming on resort days, here’s how to stay active during your Disney World vacation.
Fitness Centers
You’ll find a fitness center at each of the DVC resorts. From weights to cardio machines, they have all the basics you may need to stick to your usual fitness routine.
Running Trails
Whether you are training for your next runDisney race or you just enjoy starting the day with a light jog, you can take advantage of some of the scenic running trails at the resorts. You can find running trails at the following DVC resorts:
- Bay Lake Tower
- Beach Club
- BoardWalk
- Grand Floridian
- Old Key West
- Polynesian
- Riviera
- Saratoga Springs
If you are staying at the Beach Club or BoardWalk, there are family walk/runs along Crescent Lake called the Crescent Lake Challenge. Register for the self-guided challenge at the BoardWalk Community Hall or Screen Door General Store. Once you’ve completed the challenge, you can head to the community hall for a prize.
Golf
When you stay at Saratoga Springs or Old Key West, you are close to Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. You can reserve your tee time in advance for this 18-hole course by making a reservation online or calling (407) WDW-GOLF.
Bikes
Get some exercise while exploring some of your favorite resorts! You can find bike rentals at the following DVC resorts:
- BoardWalk Villas
- Old Key West
- Saratoga Springs
These resorts offer Surrey bikes that fit 2 to 4 people.
Tennis and Pickleball
Several DVC resorts have tennis and pickleball courts, including:
- Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village
- Bay Lake Tower
- Beach Club
- BoardWalk Villas
- Fort Wilderness
- Old Key West
- Saratoga Springs
Racquets and balls are typically available at the community halls though you’ll find them at the Bike Barn for Fort Wilderness and at the Yacht Club front desk for the Beach Club.
Some resorts, like the BoardWalk, even offer complimentary Pickleball clinics to teach guests the basic skills and techniques. Pre-registration is required since space is limited. If you prefer to take group or private tennis lessons from Bay Lake Tower, Animal Kingdom Lodge, the BoardWalk, or Saratoga Springs, you can call Orlando Tennis at (321) 228-1146.
Book your next stay at a DVC resort, and enjoy all their recreational activities and amenities! Check the confirmed reservations for resort stays that have already been booked, or inquire about availability for future dates.
