Renting a Golf Cart for the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. However, the remote and expansive nature of the resort also means that it can be more difficult to get around.
To travel around Fort Wilderness more easily, many guests like to rent electric golf carts. The carts that Disney offers can seat up to four adult guests or up to six guests if the travel party includes small children. Here’s how to rent one!
How Do You Reserve a Golf Cart?
Disney recommends that guests reserve their carts in advance. Guests 18 or older can rent golf carts directly through Disney by calling (407) 824-2742. They can make reservations up to a year prior to their check-in date. Once at Fort Wilderness, they can pick up the golf cart from the Outpost starting at 1pm. Guests can also rent any unreserved golf carts on a first come, first served basis.
On the return date, golf carts have to be returned by 11am.
How Much Does It Cost?
Renting a golf cart can range from $65.73 to $84.51 per day before tax.
Who Can Drive the Golf Cart?
Guests 16 and older with a driver’s license can drive the golf carts. Disney expects all guests to have their driver’s license on them when driving the golf carts.
Can I Bring My Own Golf Cart Instead?
Disney recently made changes to their golf cart policy. While guests can bring their own golf carts to the resort, as of June 1, 2024 they must show proof of insurance upon arrival and sign an agreement and waiver.
Along with this recent policy change, third-party golf cart rental companies are not permitted to conduct business on Disney World property.
