Polynesian Island Tower: Where to Go for Amenities
The beautiful new Island Tower adds 268 rooms to the Polynesian, including Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, One Bedroom Villas, Two Bedroom Villas, and Two Bedroom Penthouse Villas. The Island Tower has lots of amenities of its own, but guests are also able to use those at the Great Ceremonial House, where the main lobby is located at the Polynesian. When it comes to staying at the Island Tower, which amenities and services are at the Island Tower itself, and which are located at the Great Ceremonial House?
Check-in and Bell Services
You can check in at either the Island Tower or the Great Ceremonial House. At the Island Tower you’ll find cast members with tablets who can assist you in the lobby. They can also help coordinate with bell services at the Great Ceremonial House for your luggage or grocery deliveries. However, you are also able to check in and leave your luggage with bell services at the Great Ceremonial House if you prefer. Both the Island Tower and Great Ceremonial House have self-parking, but only the Great Ceremonial House has valet parking.

Transportation
Minus the boat to Magic Kingdom, which can be found near the Seven Seas Marina, you’ll find transportation at or near the Great Ceremonial House. This includes the monorail and buses that can take you to the theme parks and Disney Springs. The monorail station is on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House, and the bus stop is just outside of the Great Ceremonial House. There is no separate monorail station or bus stop for the Island Tower.
If you plan to take a rideshare anywhere, note that you need a magic band or key to the world card to open the gate at the Island Tower. There is no one at the gate. This means that if you have not already checked in, you won’t be able to get dropped off at the Island Tower. It also means that rideshares need to pick you up from the Great Ceremonial House.
Dining
The Island Tower has its own restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill, which offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is more of a continental breakfast with pastries, fruit, and coffee. For a heartier breakfast, you may want to visit the Great Ceremonial House. There you can get a quick service breakfast at Capt. Cook’s, table service breakfast at Kona Cafe, or an all-you-care-to-enjoy character breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto at ‘Ohana.
For lunch and dinner, Wailulu Bar & Grill serves a menu of cuisine inspired by the South Pacific Islands with poke bowls, short rib loco moco, and teriyaki chicken sliders just to highlight a few of its offerings. Although it’s a table service restaurant, Wailulu Bar & Grill is walk-up only and does not offer reservations. You can also opt to take food to go by placing an order via the My Disney Experience app.
If you have a refillable mug, you can refill it at the Island Tower if you don’t feel like walking to the Great Ceremonial House for Capt. Cook’s. Two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are located outside across from the pool, just next to the fitness center.

Stores and Groceries
All of the stores at the Polynesian can be found within the Great Ceremonial House. There are none at the Island Tower itself. There’s BouTiki on the first floor of the Great Ceremonial House that has a wide selection of Disney merchandise, housewares, and clothes. On the second floor is Moana Mercantile that has toys, kids’ clothes, and a small variety of sundries, drinks, and snacks.
Pools and Activities
A nice perk of staying at the Polynesian is that you can enjoy the Lava Pool and Oasis Pool that are closer to the Great Ceremonial House as well as the new Cove Pool at the Island Tower–it doesn’t matter if you are a guest at the longhouses or the Island Tower! The Lava Pool is still the feature pool of the resort, so this is where you will find the pool games that are typically held in the afternoon.
The Island Tower is where you will find the only fitness center at the Polynesian. It’s accessible to any guest staying at the Polynesian.

Laundry
If you’re staying in a Duo Studio or Deluxe Studio at the Island Tower, you won’t have a washer or dryer in your room. However, there is a laundry room on the first floor of the Island Tower.
