Is Renting DVC Points Worth It?

December 30, 2022

If you’re new to renting DVC points, you may be wondering whether it’s really worthwhile or not.  Regardless of whether you are a DVC member or not, renting DVC points for your next Disney trip can be a great option!

Pay Less for Your Resort Reservation

Some of the great deals you will find from the DVC Rental Store

First off, renting DVC points is a better deal than paying for a cash reservation directly through Disney.  In fact, you can save up to 65% off the cash rate when renting points through the DVC Rental Store.  This difference means that you could stay at a deluxe resort for the price of a stay at a moderate resort!

Confirmed reservations in particular can offer great savings.  When you browse confirmed reservations on the DVC Rental Store website, you can filter the results to find discounted deals

Stay at Amazing Resorts and Accommodations

By renting DVC points, you get to stay at some of the best resorts that Disney has to offer!  Many of these Deluxe Resorts are located close to the theme parks or Disney Springs.  Plus, you can get more space and amenities like a full kitchen with One Bedroom Villas and larger, which can be more comfortable for you and your travel party.  If you’re interested in learning more about the various DVC resorts, explore the overviews here.

Enjoy Perks

Enjoy lower crowds in EPCOT on select nights thanks to Extended Evening Theme Park Hours!

Even if you are not a DVC member, there are still a couple of perks from renting points.  Unlike with cash stays booked through Disney, you do not have to pay for parking when staying on points.  This is further savings since parking fees can really add up throughout the duration of a trip.

Like all Disney Resort guests, guests at DVC resorts qualify for Early Theme Park Entry.  However, as guests of a Disney Deluxe Resort, they also qualify for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, which run through the end of 2023.  These are nights during which a select theme park is open for two hours after the park has closed to the public.  Since the extended evening hours are just for guests at deluxe resorts, you can enjoy an emptier park and shorter wait times for attractions.
