How to Ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Disney World

May 14, 2024
By

We are almost there: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open on June 28!  The ride picks up after The Princess and the Frog and allows guests to join Tiana, Naveen, and Louis on a musical journey through the bayou as they prepare for a Mardi Gras celebration.

Here’s what to know about riding the newly reimagined attraction for DVC Member previews, Annual Passholder previews, and the ride’s official opening on June 28!

DVC Member Previews

DVC Members are among the first to be able to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.  Previews are available to those who are eligible for Membership Extras (DVC-Y) and who have a resort stay on June 12, 2024 or June 19, 2024 that was booked by May 12, 2024 at 11:59pm ET.  Note that the resort stay must be booked using their DVC membership.

The previews will take place at the following times:

  • June 12 at 1pm to 4pm
  • June 19 at 9am to 12pm

DVC Members can register themselves and any guests on their resort reservation on May 16 at 10am ET via the DVC website.  To take part in the preview, they will also need valid theme park admission and a park reservation for the Magic Kingdom on the preview date (if their ticket type requires park reservations).

Annual Passholder Previews

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders are also eligible for previews on the following dates:

  • June 13
  • June 14
  • June 16
  • June 17
  • June 18
  • June 20

Passholders looking to join the preview will need to join a virtual queue at 7am or 1pm via the My Disney Experience app.  For the 7am queue, they will need a park reservation for the Magic Kingdom.  For the 1pm queue, they just need a park reservation to any of the theme parks and can park hop to the Magic Kingdom after tapping into their first park.  Since guests do not need to be in a theme park to join the virtual queue, they can also try to enter the Magic Kingdom after 2pm without a park reservation on any of the dates except for June 16, which is a Sunday and still requires a park reservation.

Opening for the General Public

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be open to everyone starting June 28!  The ride will use a virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app that will open at 7am and 1pm.  The virtual queue will only be in place for the ride’s initial opening days.  Disney expects to open a standby line shortly after the opening.

Guests can also opt to use Genie+ to reserve a Lightning Lane for a shorter wait to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.  It will not be available as an Individual Lightning Lane, unlike most other new rides.
