How to Find More Affordable DVC Rentals
Renting DVC points can help you save on a Disney Deluxe Resort reservation. If you’re looking to dip your toe into renting DVC points for the first time or just looking for a more affordable vacation, here are some tips!
Visit During a Cheaper Travel Period
The price of renting DVC points varies depending on how many points the trip is worth. Certain times of the year are worth fewer points than others, so this can help reduce the cost of your stay. For instance, September, January, and early May are the cheapest travel periods based on the DVC points charts.
Stay at an Older Resort
Speaking of DVC points charts, the older DVC resorts tend to have lower points charts. These older resorts include Old Key West, BoardWalk Villas, Boulder Ridge, and the Beach Club. Their lower points charts can help you save a little money on renting. Out of the newer DVC resorts, Saratoga Springs and Copper Creek also have reasonable points charts that can help you save.
Choose a Smaller Accommodation
With DVC, the smaller the room type, the lower the point value will be. This translates to lower costs when renting points. For most resorts, the smallest and cheapest accommodation is the Deluxe Studio. However, there are a few exceptions such as:
- Hotel Room at Aulani
- Tower Studios at Riviera
- Deluxe Inn Room Standard View at Vero Beach
- Duo Studios at the Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Each of these accommodations are fewer points than the Deluxe Studio.
Be Flexible
Another great way to save on renting DVC points is to check for discounted confirmed reservations. With confirmed reservations, the room reservation is already booked. If you can be flexible with your travel dates, these last-minute trips can save you up to 65% off the rack rates that Disney charges!
The DVC Rental Store makes renting DVC points easy and affordable! You’ll save off of rack rates and benefit from a low upfront costs, a Stress-Free Cancellation Policy, and available financing with low monthly payments.
