Enjoy “Frozen” Fun at Disney’s California Adventure Park

January 26, 2015
By

Now that Anna, Elsa, and Olaf have moved from Disneyland to California Adventure, the “Frozen” experience has expanded. You and your family can not only meet the royal sisters, you can also join a group sing-along, learn to draw your favorite snowman, or even play in real snow! Arendelle is a busy place, however, so here are some tips for navigating your way through the many magical activities:

Meeting Anna and Elsa

Meeting Anna and Elsa is a popular attraction, so if you, or anyone in your group, wants to meet them, it’s best to make a run for the Fastpass station as soon as you get in the park, as Fastpasses can run out as soon as an hour after the park opens. There is no longer a Standby line to see the sisters, so make sure you get your Fastpass. The Fastpass station is located outside the Animation Academy in Hollywood Land. If you have access to the park through a Disney hotel’s early entry, meet the cast member holding a “Frozen” sign in front of Carthay Circle on Buena Vista Street.

Now that you have your Fastpass, you will have a non-negotiable twenty minute window to return to the attraction. The line is inside the Animation Academy and you will need to wait in line for up to an hour to get inside. Your meet and greet will last for about three minutes, so don’t forget your autograph book and camera!

Meeting Olaf

Olaf is staying across the street from the Animation Academy in the “Frozen” Fun entertainment area. Olaf has the usual standby line, so you won’t have to worry about getting a fastpass, but his line also gets long, so you may want to stop by early in your day.

Drawing Olaf

The Animation Academy studio–now the Royal Academy–is offering lessons from a real Disney artist on how to draw Olaf. This attraction only has a standby line and fills up quickly. Thankfully, lessons are offered all day, so you’re sure to get a spot whenever it fits in your schedule.

Olaf’s Snow Fest

Take your family to enjoy some time in real snow, curtesy of Olaf, and get ready to build your own snowman! The Snow Fest is located next to Olaf’s meet and greet.

“Frozen” Sing Along

Join Arendelle’s royal historians to hear the story you know from the movie, and other tales of Anna and Elsa’s adventures, as you sing along to your favorite songs. This attraction has a standby line, runs several times a day, and is located in “Frozen” Fun.

World of Color

If your family needs just a little more “Frozen” or colorful dancing water in their Disney experience, World of Color now features a few of the Frozen songs in its show. You can get a fastpass to watch the show at one of its two run times or get the dinner package and enjoy a meal before the show.

Freeze the Night! Dance Party

At the end of the day, head back to “Frozen” Fun to enjoy music, dancing, lights, and a giant thermometer that signals the end, and high point, of the party. This party is for all ages to enjoy.
