When a getaway in paradise is in order, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa is the place to go!  At Aulani, you can relax by the beautiful ocean, immerse yourself in the Hawaiian culture, and still enjoy little touches of Disney magic. Let’s go exploring at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa!

The Stunning Beach and Ocean

One of the greatest highlights of the resort is the natural beauty of its location and peaceful lagoons.  Aulani is located on 21 oceanfront acres along the beaches of Ko Olina, an area that was once where Hawaiian monarchs went for relaxation.  Since Aulani is part of the Ko Olina Resort Community & Marina, it offers also water sports like snorkeling and fishing.

The Attention to Detail

Disney is known for storytelling, and Aulani weaves the Hawaiian culture throughout the resort.  From the resort’s contemporary Hawaiian art collection to the carvings in the entryway and lobby that celebrate Hawaiian history and storytelling, there are many nods to the local culture.  The impish Menehune hidden throughout the resort are based on local legend. Even The ‘Ōlelo Room lounge that offers live music, sushi, sashimi, and drinks is themed to the Hawaiian language.

Incredible Pools, Lazy River, and Rainbow Reef

Many people automatically think of the Beach Club Villas with Stormalong Bay as the best DVC resort for a pool day, but Aulani clearly tops that!  Aulani offers an infinity edge pool with views of the beach, whirlpool spas, a splash zone for kids, an 8,200 square foot pool with a body slide, and a lazy river.  You can also go snorkeling in the incredible Rainbow Reef, which is a 3,800 square foot saltwater lagoon with thousands of tropical fish.

A Variety of Resort Activities

While Aulani is a perfect place for relaxation, there are lots of activities to keep the whole family entertained.  Many of them are included in your stay.  You can catch live Hawaiian music, walking tours, golf, excursions, storytelling, ukulele lessons.  Kids can enjoy the Pau Hana Community Hall or visit Aunty’s Beach House, which offers activities for kids ages 4 to 12 that celebrate Hawaiian culture, music, and art.

Touches of Disney

While there are no Disney theme parks in Hawaii, you can still meet with some of your favorite Disney characters or enjoy character dining at the Makahiki Character Breakfast.  You’ll find Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Chip ‘n Dale, Duffy, Shellie May, Stitch, and Moana at the resort!  Some of the premium activities incorporate characters like the Kakamora Chaos with Moana and SURF’S UP! – A Surfin’, Fishin’ and Dancin’ Party! You’ll also find your Disney characters hidden in some of the resort decor.
