DVC Resort Activities: Hilton Head

Located along the South Carolina coast and themed after 1940s hunting and fishing lodges, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort offers a peaceful beach getaway for the whole family. While it’s a great place for a quiet and relaxing trip, there are still lots of activities available on property.

Dolphin and Nature Discovery

Take an hour and a half long boat ride on Broad Creek to see dolphins! This experience is open to all ages and costs $45 per person. Make a reservation by calling 843-341-4100.

Guided Nature Walks

Enjoy the natural beauty of Hilton Head Island with guided nature walks. The resort offers four different adventures:

Beach Nature Walk – Enjoy the beauty of the beach and ocean, and get to know the sea life.

Meet the Naturalist – A naturalist will teach you about the animals native to Hilton Head Island and answer any questions you may have about them.

Resort Nature Walk – Walk around Longview Island, and learn about the flora and fauna and Disney’s preservation efforts.

Pinckney Island Wildlife Adventure – Follow a naturalist to Pinckney Island, a national wildlife refuge. Here, you’ll find birds and maybe gators!

There are even special nature programs for kids and teens.

Disney’s Beach House

Located a shuttle or bike ride away from the main section of the resort, Disney’s Beach House is on the Atlantic Ocean beachfront. This is where you can find umbrella and chair rentals, quick service lunch at Signals, and a heated pool. The Surfmen’s Station at the beach house is also the perfect place to lounge by the fireplace and play games for some indoor fun.

Family Activities

Each week there are activities for the whole family, including Goofy Bingo, Movies Under the Oaks, and Mickey Tie-Dye. You can also rent equipment to go fishing and crabbing along Broad Creek. Like other DVC resorts, Hilton Head offers marshmallow roasting by the campfire. If you need a little more Disney fun, you can find Chip ‘n’ Dale at the resort as of April 2023!

Community Hall

Stop by the community hall for games and arts and crafts. You can also visit the front desk to borrow board games.

Recreational Rentals

At the resort’s recreation office, you can rent bikes for adults and children to enjoy the many scenic bike trails. The bikes have fat tires, so they can be used on the beach. The rental office even provides complimentary bike helmets, locks, and baskets.

Aside from bikes, you can rent equipment for fishing, crabbing, basketball, bocce, pool, table tennis, and shuffleboard.
