When you rent a DVC stay through DVC Rental Store, you have two options: confirmed reservations or checking availability and price. Which rental option makes the most sense for you? Let’s compare the two based on flexibility, availability, savings, and cancellation policies.
Flexibility
Starting with checking availability and price gives you the most freedom. You can put in the check-in and departure dates that work best for you, and then explore the various DVC accommodations. DVC Rental Store will then work to secure your resort request.
Confirmed reservations are less flexible because they have already been booked by a DVC Member and cannot be changed. The dates, resorts, and room types you see as you browse the listings are guaranteed available and ready to be claimed by a guest as is.
Availability
Availability is always best when reservations open, which is at 11-months out from your check-in date for DVC reservations. If checking availability and price, resort availability is best at the 11-month mark and then decreases as you get closer to the check-in date.
By contrast, confirmed reservations can be a good option for last minute getaways. Since they have already been booked by a DVC Member, you don’t have to worry about availability. The reservation has already been secured, which makes the rental process quick and easy.
Savings
Whether you start with checking availability and price or a confirmed reservation, you will still get a great deal with DVC Rental Store! Cancellation Policies
No matter which option you choose, both confirmed reservations and reservations made through checking availability and price come with DVC Rental Store’s Stress-free Cancellation Policy. This policy allows guests to get credit to put towards a new reservation. The amount of credit received depends on when the original reservation was cancelled.
For added protection, you can also opt to purchase Cashback Protection Policy. This optional policy allows you to get a cash refund if you have to cancel your trip. Similar to the Stress-free Cancellation Policy, the amount refunded through the Cashback Protection Policy depends on how far in advance you cancel the trip.
