
Disney World August 2026 Schedule: Events, Closures & More
August in Orlando means Halloween. Yes, it’s still summer everywhere else and it feels like summer at Walt Disney World Resort. However, the first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party of the year is during the first week of August. Seasonal merchandise is already sprinkled around the parks like fallen leaves. Epcot’s food and wine festival also debuts this month. Here is a list of the new offerings and more of what’s on the Disney World August 2026 schedule of events.
Side note: The Disney D23 fan event takes place in Anaheim, California from August 14 through the 16. Many announcements and updates about Disney parks and films are shared during this time.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Begins August 7
Each year Magic Kingdom celebrates Halloween with this special ticketed offering. That means an additional ticket must be purchased to enjoy the party. Your regular park ticket does not grant you access.

What’s at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?
Here’s what you can expect to see at Magic Kingdom for the party:
- Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
- Trick or treating at locations around the park
- Rare characters and characters in their Halloween costumes
- Themed lighting and music around the park
- Seasonal entertainment only seen at Mickey’s Not So Scary

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival Starts August 27
Epcot’s popular food and wine festival returns on August 27 and runs on November 21 in 2026.

Eat to the Beat Concert Series August 2026 Schedule
Nightly show times for the Epcot food and wine festival concerts in the America Gardens Theatre are 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Cool Kids’ Summer Happenings at Disney World in August
Fall fun is here but these Cool Kids’ Summer offerings geared toward younger audiences are still available through September 8:
- Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios: Characters like Pluto, Goofy, Stitch, Chip, Dale, Donald, Rapunzel, Mulan and Moana can be spotted roaming this space, playing games and taking pictures. There’s also an outdoor juggling show, jump rope show and band performance.
- Bluey at Animal Kingdom: The Wildlife Express Train in the Africa area of the park will take you to Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station where you can expect dancing, games like Keepy Uppy and animals native to Australia.
- GoofyCore at Epcot: Join Goofy for indoor games and fun inside Epcot’s CommuniCore Hall in the middle of the park.
- Jesse’s Roundup at Magic Kingdom: Inside the Diamond Horseshoe venue in Frontierland, Jesse, Woody and Bullseye host singing, dancing, games and more.
Animation Building at Hollywood Studios Opens Next Month
The Magic of Disney Animation building opens on September 14. If you’re in the park before then, you can always check to see if there’s a soft opening which often happens with new or refurbished offerings at Disney.
Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are Open through September 8
August is the last full month that both of Walt Disney World Resort’s water parks are open. Typhoon Lagoon’s last day of operation this summer before closing for refurbishment is September 8.

- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened after extensive refurbishment.
- The Mandalorian and Grogu debuted on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
- Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! opened at Hollywood Studios.
- Soarin’ Across America celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.
- Disney resort guests can get into a water park for free on their check in day through September 8
