Character Greetings Return at Walt Disney World
Quick, name the one thing you miss the most at Disney theme parks! It’s the character interactions, right?
Well, character greetings will return soon at Walt Disney World. In fact, some are already back. Let me explain.
Character Interactions Come Back Soon!
Now, here’s the news we’ve all wanted for a while. Character interactions at the parks will return soon.
Disney officials didn’t announce an exact date, but they indicated it’ll happen at some point in November.
According to Disney’s Parks Blog, park guests will enjoy “individualized time with some of your favorite characters.”
The article indicates that hugs and autographs will remain unavailable for the foreseeable future due to the pandemic.
Still, the headline here is that four of your favorite character spots will return in a matter of weeks.
Disney will restore character interactions at two Magic Kingdom locations, Princess Fairytale Hall and Town Square Theater.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will host the other two returning character spots. Those are Red Carpet Dreams and Animation Courtyard.
So, you’ll find Disney Princesses and Mickey Mouse at Magic Kingdom. Then, you’ll hang out with Minnie Mouse and Disney Junior favorites at Hollywood Studios.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse will wear their EARidescent outfits for these greetings.
Also, the blog states that the current character sighting options like Cavalcades, motorcades, flotillas, and other surprise appearances will continue.
Disney has chosen not to turn character interactions into an either/or situation. You’ll still have a chance to check out the quick-hitter appearances during your next visit.
The sneaky part of this update involves Disney After Hours – Boo Bash. Guests this past weekend experienced a bit of serendipity.
Villains have returned with character interactions! Yes, you can get your picture with the Evil Queen or Cruella de Vil! So, character greetings are technically already back!
Musicians and More Attractions Returning at Disney Parks
In addition, Disney has committed to more live performances at the parks.
Starting this week, Chakranadi and Kora Tinga Tinga will return to their former spots at Harambe Village in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Yes, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom both have percussions again! That should liven up the place.
The other impending arrival is one I’d previously discussed. Yehaa Bob Jackson returns to Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside this Thursday.
On November 7th, Disney Movie Magic will come back to Hollywood Studios as well. This show had just planned a Mulan-centered update before the pandemic.
Ergo, this old version of the show will gain new features in November:
When Disney Movie Magic reopens, every Disney park will feature some sort of daily presentation once more. We’re still awaiting work on Fantasmic!, though.
Speaking of Hollywood Studios, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! isn’t done! Some insiders had speculated that Disney had permanently closed the oldest attraction at the park.
Thankfully, those concerns proved misguided. We can watch Indiana Jones save the day again starting on December 19th!
Also, I’ve got one final come-back to discuss this week. Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk has set the date.
This place will reopen on October 15th at 7 p.m. Its new hours are from then through 1:45 a.m. The nightclub will operate from Thursday through Monday each week.
Jellyrolls will require masks while indoors, albeit with a caveat. You must wear a face-covering until you order a drink and sit down at your table.
Then, once seated, you can remove the face mask to drink. It’s anybody’s guess how stridently workers will enforce this policy, but those are the stated rules.
