Big Changes Coming to Walt Disney World in 2024

December 18, 2023
By

With 2024 right around the corner, Walt Disney World Resort has announced some exciting changes that will make the guest experience even more magical. Starting January 9, 2024, guests with Park Hopper benefits or an Annual Pass will be able to visit another theme park at any time during park hours. This is a significant shift from the previous rule that allowed Park Hopper access only after 2 p.m.

This change gives guests the freedom to plan their day as they wish. Imagine starting your day at the Riviera, then heading over to EPCOT for a delicious breakfast at Les Halles in France, and then hopping onto the Disney Skyliner to spend the rest of the morning in Andy’s backyard at Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Or perhaps you’d prefer to kick off your day with a relaxing safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom before hopping over to Magic Kingdom Park to catch the Festival of Fantasy parade. The possibilities are endless!

On days when theme park reservations are required, those with Annual Passes or certain non-dated tickets can still take advantage of the updated Park Hopper access after visiting their first park. For instance, if a Passholder has a reservation at EPCOT and enters the park at 9 a.m., they can head to another park immediately afterward.

Passholders can also look forward to the introduction of “Good-to-go days” starting January 11th, 2024. These special days will allow Passholders to visit a Disney World theme park without needing a theme park reservation. However, blockout dates will still apply. Guests will need to check the Annual Passholder admissions calendar within the My Disney Experience app to view what days are “good-to-go”. Dates will be added periodically beginning January 11th, as availability allows.

The goal behind these changes is to make visiting Disney World easier, simpler, and more fun! Other recent improvements include:

  • Complimentary self-parking for Disney Resort hotel stays
  • Extended access for Annual Passholders
  • Inclusion of digital downloads of select PhotoPass attraction photos with the purchase of Disney Genie+ service
  • Return of parking trams to all four Disney World theme parks

And starting January 9, 2024, guests will see even more changes:

  • All-day Park Hopper access during park hours
  • No theme park reservations required for date-based tickets
  • Return of Disney dining plans for Disney Resort hotel guests as part of a package
