A Look Inside the Renovated Rooms at Disney’s Old Key West
If you haven’t stayed at Disney’s Old Key West in a few years, you may be surprised to find it looks a little different from what you remember. While this deluxe resort is still made up of those familiar pastel-colored buildings, the interiors have been refreshed. In 2021, Hospitality House (the lobby) was renovated, and in 2019 all of the villas underwent a hard goods refurbishment. Let’s take a look inside the renovated rooms at Disney’s Old Key West and check out the updates, shall we?
Hospitality House
Inside the main building, you’ll find that Hospital House kept its warm and inviting feel though the overall decor is lighter and brighter with lots of neutrals punctuated by shades of turquoise and coral. In addition, the lobby’s large check-in desk has been replaced with multiple smaller check-in desks for a more personable experience. There are also more seating areas for guests. Despite these changes, most areas are still familiar. For example, Papa’s Den still has its fireplace and bookshelves, albeit with a brighter color scheme and more modern furniture.
The Deluxe Studios at Disney’s Old Key West
During the hard goods refurbishment, the rooms received new flooring, new appliances, new furniture, and updated bathrooms. Similar to Hospitality House, the Deluxe Studios now have lots of neutral colors with pops of turquoise in the curtains. Accent walls throughout the villa also complement the resort’s coastal theming. Unlike some of the more recent refurbishments, the Deluxe Studios at Old Key West do not have a Murphy bed. Instead, they still have two regular queen-size beds to accommodate up to four adults, as they did before the renovation.
The Villas
The refurbishment brought new flooring, appliances, and furniture as well as updated bathrooms to the One Bedroom, Two Bedroom, and Three Bedroom Villas. They have the same bright color scheme as the Deluxe Studios, reflected in everything from the area rugs and artwork to the throw pillows and upholstery. This gives the rooms a much more modern feel. Like the Deluxe Studios, these villas have sofa couches rather than Murphy beds.
