5 Reasons to Love Journey of Water, Inspired By Moana
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana is set to open to the public on October 16! EPCOT’s newest attraction features an interactive walking path in the World Nature section of the park that allows guests to learn about the water cycle. Here are 5 reasons why you’ll love Journey of Water!
It’s Great For All Ages
Journey of Water is an attraction for all ages! There are no height requirements, so everyone in your travel party can enjoy it. Just note that children under 12 must have adult supervision, and diaper age children must wear swim diapers for the interactive water feature.
It’s Good Old-Fashioned EPCOT “Edutainment”
The original EPCOT attractions were focused on blending education and entertainment. Journey of Water follows this theme as it teaches guests how water cycles from the sky to the seas and back. However, it does this with interactive water features, so guests can play with the water just like Moana!
You Can Choose Between Wet and Dry Paths
With this attraction, guests can choose to follow one of two paths at certain junctions. You can play with the water and get wet on the wet paths, or choose the dry paths to stay dry. Note that guests using a wheelchair and those with service animals must use the dry paths.
You Can Find Hidden Characters and a Meet and Greet
It’s always fun to look for hidden Mickeys, and with Journey of Water you can find hidden characters from Moana! Disney Imagineers have hidden the characters in the rockwork, such as Heihei, Pua, and the Kakamora. Be on the lookout for them as you walk through the attraction.
You can even meet Moana at the attraction from time to time. Her meet and greet is located near the entrance to Journey of Water.
It’s a Different Experience at Night
Journey of Water is beautiful during the daytime, but at night the walkways, rock formations, and water are lit up with shades of blue and green, and the attraction has a different ambiance. It’s fun to visit Journey of Water more than once to experience both day and night there.
