2023 DVC Resort Refurbishments
At the December 2022 Disney Vacation Club Condo Association Meeting, DVC announced that five resorts would undergo refurbishment in 2023. Below are the DVC resorts that will be renovated this year, and how they may impact your future stay.
Boulder Ridge Villas
The long awaited full refurbishment of the Boulder Ridge Villas has begun! With this full refurbishment, the rooms have been completely redone with laminate floors and new fixtures and furniture, such as the addition of Murphy beds. The updates feel more modern but still retain the rustic theming the resort is known for.
The refurbishment has been completed in sections. While none of the resort amenities are closed during the renovations, guests may hear and see construction during the daytime. It is likely that the construction will be done this Spring, so those who have upcoming Boulder Ridge reservations can look forward to some fresh new villas! In fact, some guests have already begun to stay in the newly refurbished rooms.
BoardWalk Villas
The BoardWalk Villas will also undergo a full refurbishment this year. The rooms will be completely redone with new fixtures, furniture, appliances, and more. While no date has officially been announced, room availability patterns point to the Fall as the start of construction. Disney has not yet released any concept art, but this refurbishment is in line with an overhaul of the BoardWalk as a whole with the lobby, Inn side of the resort, and many of the amenities being redesigned with a more modern flair.
Belle Vue Lounge has recently been refreshed with new furniture, and Dundy’s Sundries has been converted into Carousel Coffee with a new seating area. In addition, ESPN Club is being replaced with the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rodgers, which is expected to open later this year.
Beach Club Villas
Since January 7, the Beach Club Villas has been undergoing a soft goods refurbishment. This includes updates to things like the floors, upholstery, linens, and paint. Most notably, the refurb replaces the sofa beds with Murphy beds. The ones at the Beach Club feature artwork with Donald Duck and his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The construction occurs during the daytime hours and does not impact the resort’s amenities. It is expected to continue through late this fall though some rooms on the 5th floor have already been refurbished and are available to guests as of early February 2023.
Hilton Head Resort
Moving outside of the Disney World DVC resorts, Hilton Head is scheduled to undergo a full refurbishment this year. No date has been announced for the start of construction, nor has any concept art been released. However, guests can expect updates to the furniture, fixtures, floors, walls, and appliances.
Vero Beach Resort
In 2023, Vero Beach Resort will have a soft goods refurbishment. As with Hilton Head, Disney has not yet shared the construction dates or concept art. With this refurbishment, guests can look forward to refreshed upholstery, linens, walls, and light fixtures. Additional renovations are on the horizon in 2024 with the Vero Beach Feature Pool and Pirate’s Plunge Pool Slide undergoing refurbishment from January 8, 2024 to late March 2024. During that time, the Tiger Lily Wet Play Area, Port Holes Miniature Golf, and whirlpool spa will also be closed.
