Which New Disney Experiences Can You Look Forward to in 2027?
D23 shared lots of exciting news on new attractions and experiences coming to the Disney theme parks and beyond. Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long to enjoy them since some are opening as early as 2027!
With the DVC booking window currently open through summer 2027, it’s a good time for guests to start submitting rental requests to experience the latest attractions from Disney World or Disneyland, or for DVC Members to start considering a Disney cruise swap for the newest Disney ship.
Disney World
Tropical Americas in Animal Kingdom
Lots of new attractions are coming to Tropical Americas in Animal Kingdom in 2027! The former Dinosaur attraction has been reimagined as Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. Indiana Jones visits a Mayan temple to learn more about the mythical serpentine creature, the Tsukán, and guests will find themselves face to face with the Tsukán when they get sucked into a portal to the Maya Underworld!

Also coming to Tropical Americas is a brand new attraction: Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto. Guests of all ages can visit the Casita as Mirabel and her family celebrate Antonio’s new magical gift of communicating with animals. The attraction will bring the animals to life with more than 50 animatronics.
Last but not least is El Carrusel de los Animalitos, which is a carousel that will feature 22 hand-carved animals inspired by Disney and Pixar characters like Simba, Nala, Eeyore, Pascal, and Pua.
Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios
Parts of the new Monsters, Inc. land will open in 2027. Guests will get to step into Mike and Sulley’s world as Monstropolis’ Department of Human Relations invites humans in honor of H.U.M.A.N. (Humans Understanding Monsters Are Nice) Day. Mike and Sulley will personally welcome guests to Monstropolis in the Glob Theater in a new show in the former location of Muppet Vision 3D. Guests can try some of the monsters’ favorite dining spots, such as Archie’’s Scare Pig Pizza and Harryhausen’s Restaurant (where Mike and Cecilia go on their date in Monsters, Inc.), and shop at The Scareporium for Monstropolis souvenirs.
Guests will have to wait until after 2027 for the door coaster, which does not yet have an opening date.

Reimagined Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom
The newest iteration of Carousel of Progress will debut in late spring 2027 with new scenes, including the new opening with an audio-animatronic of Walt Disney. The attraction will follow the carousel family from the summer of 1969 with the moon landing through Halloween in 1985, New Year’s Eve in 1999, and finally a scene from the possible future complete with robots and space travel. While the classic song “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” will still be part of the Carousel of Progress, John and Sarah will be voiced by Bryan Cranston and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Lakeshore Lodge
The newest DVC resort, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge, is projected to open in 2027. While we previously learned about some of the Magic Kingdom resort’s main amenities, such as The Wetlands pool area, lobby, dining, and fireworks view lounge, D23 offered a glimpse of the stunning One- and Two-Bedroom Lake Houses that will sit along Bay Lake. These contemporary A-frame structures will have floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive views of Bay Lake and are designed as artists’ retreats with very subtle references to the 2003 animated film Brother Bear (and the Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida artists who created it) through details like the aurora borealis landscape above the bed and the artwork throughout the lake house.
Disneyland
At Disneyland, guests will get to enjoy the return of two beloved nighttime spectaculars and a parade. In February 2027, “Remember…Dreams Come True” comes to Disneyland Park with new projections that will be visible from Rivers of America, “it’s a small world,” and Main Street, U.S.A. On select evenings, the show will be enhanced with fireworks above Sleeping Beauty Castle. Also in February 2027 will be the updated “World of Color” in Disney California Adventure. With fountains, lasers, projections, and a medley of songs, the nighttime show will incorporate classic Disney films such as The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Toy Story.

In summer 2027, we’ll see the return of the “Magic Happens” parade in Disneyland Park with stunning floats, performers, and of course, Mickey and his pals. Disneyland fans may remember Magic Happens when it originally premiered in honor of the park’s 65th anniversary in 2020.
Disney Cruise Line
While we don’t have many details yet, we do know that the newest Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Believe, is set to launch in late 2027. The Believe, which is inspired by Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters, is going to be the fourth Wish Class ship, so it will be similar in size and layout to the Disney Wish. We recently learned that the ship will feature Buzz Lightyear and Woody on the stern, Tinker Bell on the bow, and a statue of Moana with Pua and Hei Hei in the Grand Hall.

While itineraries aren’t out yet for the Disney Believe, don’t forget that DVC Members can always take advantage of DVC Rental Store’s Disney Cruise Swap Program to rent out their points to pay for a Disney cruise. The swap program offers a better value, so you don’t need to use as many points as you would need if exchanging your points for a cruise directly through Disney Vacation Club. Plus, there are no blackout dates or exchange fees, and you can participate in the swap program using resale DVC points.
