Which DVC Resorts at Disney World Have Playgrounds?
The theme parks are easily the most exciting parts of a Disney World vacation, but don’t underestimate the appeal of a playground when you’re traveling with kids. They’re the perfect spot for kids to let out some wiggles, especially when you’re enjoying a resort-only day. If spending time at a playground is a must for your family, here are some DVC Resorts to consider booking for your next vacation.
Animal Kingdom Villas
Over at Jambo House just behind the Uzima Springs Pool is the Hakuna Matata Playground. There are two sections: one intended for younger children and another one for older children with larger slides and areas to climb. The playground feels well thought out with a nice amount of shade, a couple of benches, water fountains, and a bottle refill station. Even if you’re staying at Kidani Village, the Hakuna Matata Playground is easily accessible. Jambo House is just a short walk or shuttle ride away.
BoardWalk Villas
Adjacent to the BoardWalk’s Luna Park Pool is the Luna Park Crazy Play Area. Similar to the Hakuna Matata playground, you’ll find two sections for different age groups. While this playground has a few lounge chairs underneath the trees, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area can feel quite hot in the middle of the day. Note that this playground is fenced in with the Luna Park Pool, so you’ll need your MagicBand or Key to the World Card to access it.
Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness
When staying at the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness, kids can visit four playgrounds:
- By Pioneer Hall
- By the Meadows Recreation Area
- Near the 1300 Loop
- Near the 300 Loop
None of the playgrounds are near the Cabins, but you can take the internal bus since each of the playgrounds are near a bus stop.
Old Key West
Old Key West is home to four playgrounds. You’ll find them near the main feature pool (the Sandcastle Pool), near the leisure pool at Old Turtle Pond, near the leisure pool at South Point, and near the leisure pool at Miller’s Road. The sandy playground by the Sandcastle Pool is the largest of the Old Key West playgrounds.
Saratoga Springs
There’s one playground at Saratoga Springs within the Congress Park section of the resort next to the Congress Park Pool. If you’re staying at one of the other sections within Saratoga Springs, it’s easy to take the bus to Congress Park and then walk to the playground.
